Makes you wonder how they end up with a V5C for something like that when genuine owners of genuine cars have to jump through hoops galore to establish provenance for a car they have owned for over 30 years !
Suspect that a change of keeper on that one could end up in a world of pain for the unfortunate buyer !

The adverts states a small Ford brochure from 1970 on which this very car features on the cover is included.
Does anybody know if this car is still around as the car in the advert cannot be the same car, LHD / RHD etc
The ad did mention car was converted to LHD after it went abroad.Does anybody know if this car is still around as the car in the advert cannot be the same car, LHD / RHD etc
PX was a West Sussex reg number in that period IIRC, so it was never a Ford press fleet car.

It had a V5 issued in 2019 and is currently sorned. Whether the V5 bears any relation to the car listed for sale is the more pressing question.Does anybody know if this car is still around as the car in the advert cannot be the same car, LHD / RHD etc
After doing a little more digging on the "known" history of this one I got the following :
"It was registered with the AVO Club back in 1986 when it was still the original car as on the brochure. It wasn't Ford registered, but the owner back then (4th owner) said Ford didn't have an RS1600 to hand for the picture so borrowed the car back from the first owner, hence a slightly non std look.
Next we heard was in July 1990 from a member who was also a bit of a dealer. He sent a letter with details of a few cars and mentioned he'd recently sold KPX 901J to Belgium.
Then in 2017 it was for sale on ebay. We had contact with the guy selling it (who is still potentially the current owner). In 2017 it had a LHD Saarlouis shell !!
It's now on yet another shell.
Current seller did put it on the RS1600 facebook group back in February but it was still narrow bodied then whereas it's now arched"
Definitely very much a "buyer beware" kind of car especially given that it's now potentially on its 3rd or 4th shell and has no interior nor indeed much (if anything) of the original drive-train or running gear.

Wow.....what an odd colour combo......even for those days.If that's all original (likely southern Italy and rust free) that would make an excellent FIA rally car build (which is what will likely happen to it, even at close to that price)

That really is nice. I hope it doesn't get ruined.
It might even be a 940.
Could well be given its an early one, and the under 1000cc tax bracket thing in Italy at the time would have made it more logical to buy than the 1100.It might even be a 940.
Here’s a late 2-door in Finland:

Quite like that shade of blue - any idea what it is?If that's all original (likely southern Italy and rust free) that would make an excellent FIA rally car build (which is what will likely happen to it, even at close to that price)
I re-shelled one of my rally cars using an ex-police car back in the day - and left it panda-car blue . This one looks a darker shade than that though.

Fiesta 957 is a Valencia ( 'Kent crossflow, but different' )
So front wheel drive & 3 bearing crank.
Escort 940 is a traditional Kent crossflow for rwd with a 5 bearing crank.
So very few interchangeable parts. I believe the 940 stopped production and 'died out' in 1975, when the Mk2 Escort was launched.
Edit- my reply a little late due to my slow typing ! Sorry.
