My Mercedes e350 got a small amount of damage to the front while in Florence, My insurance company wrote it off sadly, as it was a great car, looked new, had full-service history and needed very little work to get it back on the road. They did not even come and see it, just looked at where it was in the middle of covid and paid the normal not very generous amount, and gave me the car.... still in Italy...

I have the car safe in a garage in Italy the question is what to do with it? I told the DVLA in the UK that it is a Cat B write off:

So? is it poss to register it in Italy and put it back on the road in Italy, it is certainly just about £500 worth of second-hand parts and some labour away from being road worthy... I could leave it here save on car hire as I visit often.

Can I sell it for the part and get a decent amount for it, a second-hand engine for one of these goes for a couple of thousand, mine can be seen running etc plus gearbox and white leather interior etc etc

how might I go about this?

It is minor damage, but the question is: can I sell it to someone here in Italy, who could register it and use it? That makes a big difference to the price i might get.

Transport to the UK would cost 1800 in covid times, so It would be better to spend that money on getting it fully on the road .
