Cost of registered post from Goodwood ticket office!!
Discussion
Perhaps someone (maybe Sarah) can enlighten me as to why having just ordered a single FOS ticket at £63.75 with my GRRC membership I have been charged £9.75 postage for the privilege of having it sent to me registered delivery.
Typical cost for registered delivery of an item this size should be between £2 and £4 and believe me the latter amount would be pushing the boundaries.
Yet again- feeling like I’m being fleeced.

I’m well aware of the cost of everything when inside as I’ve been going there for 20 years. That’s not my point. I’m specifically questioning how something that weights so little even within the small paper wallet I will inevitably receive it in can cost me £10 for the privilege of having it posted through my front door, registered or not.
I cannot help but think GW are making a shed load of money out of simply putting things in the post on top of everything else.

If the value of the goods are over £50 they might be using "Special Delivery" which costs £7.65. Add the costs of envelope and time & maybe you are there?Typical cost for registered delivery of an item this size should be between £2 and £4 and believe me the latter amount would be pushing the boundaries.

(Maybe )
Just checked. The post option is right at the top of the purchase screen and is easily missed. It’s default (unsurprisingly!!) is Registered Post and you have to manually change it. I missed that and went to the next screen whereby you get the impression it’s your only option. So- hands up from me for missing it- I wonder how many others do- but even so it doesn’t change the fact that it’s still bloomin expensive either way!

Quick thanks from me; I'm booking tickets for the Revival and would have been on the hook for a registered post fee of £10 or so had it not been for this advice. Thanks Mk2Jag.
