Well my latest incoming will almost divide opinions.

I've liked these for a while and when they appeared at a decent price on the watch gang wheel I decided to take a punt!

That's pretty funky in a very unattractive sort of way, much like a Subaru Impreza. Cool!

The case shape is similar to something from Richard Mille, you don't see it used elsewhere much.

It's definitely RM-inspired.
I like the Space Invaders theme, but prefer my own watches more legible.

All the reviews for it are great and it is definitely different.

As a 70's kid i grew up with space invaders and the like so that appeals to me.

All the white parts including the strap are fully lumed which is cool!

I've just done some research on it. At first glance I thought it was a cheapie, but it's not is it, it's available in quartz or automatic and well constructed. I go in for gimmicky bits and stuff, it's the main reason I bought the Spinnaker Bradner, I love the colours and 3d effect.

Don't suppose you have a picture on wrist? As long as it's not huge, I think I'll add this to my ever growing purchase list.

Speaking of the Bradner, after selling my black and green one, I found a Pacific Blue on amazon for £170. It's odd in that it's got their older font/logo but has the later model 180m water resistance.

I've got one of those and really like it.

No wrist shots yet sd i only ordered it over the weekend.

Direct from nubeo the price varies a lot depending on the offer, they have been as low as about £260 but sometimes up to £650 which is a straight no.

But this came from watch gangs wheel spin for about £170 which is much more palatable.

Yes I suppose £600+ is a bit rich, you can be in Seiko Prospex and Tissot Powermatic territory then.

It's currently listed at £400 for the Automatic, which I'd have no problem paying. The glow really does look good in the pictures, particularly the inner chapter ring (square).

I've noticed Citizen Tsuyosa have started to drop below £200 in places so that's probably my next purchase. Though I do need to rein it in a bit, I've been spending too much money on watches recently to counter the depression from a lousy spring. Still, it's warm now so I'll get a chance to wear what I've bought out and about.

I'm not too keen on the open heart look of the auto and for me at least quartz seems a better match to a space invaders watch with both being from the early days of electronics!

The lume is the reason i went for this version as oppose some of the funkier colours that didnt have the same full lume properties.

Unpopular opinion around here, but it doesn’t do any harm to sit on your hands every now and then, as far as watch buying is concerned!

You’ve certainly got some cracking watches for the spring to enjoy wearing.

I'm with you there.
I bought t a Steeldive in November (?) , was given a Longines for Christmas, snagged a Spaceview in January and paid too much for a Seamaster Mariner in April. On top of this bumper haul, my Electoquartz was finally returned from the watchmaker in April.

When I get a new watch I tend to wear it exclusively for a month or so. They've been coming in so thick and fast that I don't feel like I've had time to enjoy them properly.

I don't need anything else at the moment. But to be fair, I didn't need any of these int he first place!

Weirdly, I have a similar feeling at the moment. I bought a watch back in December ‘22 (outside thread budget) and I’ve worn it loads since. I don’t think I bought another until earlier this year - and that one went wrong - twice! So I didn’t ask for a replacement the second time.

All this means I haven’t bought anything for close to 18 months…

But the itch has returned

Some wise words being said here. I've got enough to see me through, since I had zero at Christmas and now have loads.

Does anyone insure their watches? I haven't bothered with the sub £200 lot since i buy/sell regularly, but a few of the more pricy ones I have for about £80 which seems fair.

Yeah, I know mine too will return.

My acquisition rate of £200ish watches is set to fall anyway. There are almost 50 watches in my collection now, so I've decided that anything "new" has to make a meaningful addition. It's got to be a cheap bit of fun, or drop dead gorgeous (which usually means inappropriate for this thread!) I'm letting a lot of stuff in the £200ish bracket pass by. Not because there's anything wrong with 'em, but because it's time to value quality (or novelty) over quantity.

50 is pretty impressive.

I've got a 12 case as my collection, with a 6 case for odd watches that I've acquired. Both are full.

I'm on a self imposed rule that I have to get rid of something old to make way for something new. As much as I'd like hundreds of watches, I do intend to wear them all at some point, and I have trouble getting through this many as it is. It also has the added benefit of making sure the ones I have I like a lot, and accounts for the fact that tastes change and I get bored easily, much like with cars and bikes.

I bought mine a few years ago and it has the same font/depth rating.

I think I perhaps imagined the older ones had a 150m depth rating. The image on the amazon listing had the later font, but I'm not fussed as I prefer the previous style.

I've got three Spinnakers now, they're all very well made and a bargain for the discount prices.

hehe brilliant!

That's often how it's been working for me in reality.

I haven't sold any but only have 6 watches.

Over the last 3 years I seem to be buying 1 watch a year so no need to sell some at this rate. However there are currently 2 different watches very high up on my want list.

For me I like to take my time in choosing the next watch and often find that after several months of looking at one particular watch I realise it has a compromise that I am not happy with that wasn't apparent on first viewing.

This works for me and I wouldn't want to sell any of my current watches.
