I'd like to recommend a couple of my local favourites if anyone is ever in the St Helens area.

The Hop House which serves craft ales in draft and in cans about £5 ish a pint and the Skewbridge Alehouse serving real ales about £4 a pint just over the road. Something there for all beer tastes.

Just been to the botanist for food ,had a botanist lager brewed by Tiny Rebel, currently at tiny rebel and had to try this as per Elvis juice brew dog

Very easy knockable back drink ,not as potent as the Elvis ,as after a few of them @ 6.5 you know it

The Craftsmen - large craft ale bar in Warwick. Just had a tap takeover by The Left Handed Giant Brewpub from Bristol.

Lovely selection of fresh beers and food smelt good !!

They have another tap takeover 7th December - DEYA brewing.

Another tap takeover at the new corner bar at the Tate Modern.
This time it was Signature Brew Co's turn.

Not as good beer as the Drop Projects tap takeovers but still a good evening.

Nice new bar there, probably 3 times the size of the previous cafe/bar.

Also had one of the best chicken burgers and fries I've ever had !!

Nice beer that but not the same out of a keg or bottle. Only draught will do IMO.

Similar to that, I really enjoy Summer Lighting beer

I agree, a really safe bet and one my my favourite daily IPA's.

Only problem is Spoons have stopped selling it, at least in my local one, twas a bloody bargain at £2.25 a pint!

My running group had a social in a local brew pub the other night (de Prael). 2 tasting planks (4 beers each) and a larger Red Ale and I still didn't try everything they had on tap. Didn't think much of thier Berliner Weisse, but the 11.5% quadruple was very nice.

Also my neighbor gave me a bottle of de Molen's Stroop & Wafel as a thank you for fixing the fence the other day, and it really did taste of stroop wafel, very nice. If anyone ever finds themselves near Gouda (Netherlands), the de Molen brewery/bar/shop in Bodegraven is well worth a visit, they do a massive range from standard IPA/Triple/Stout/etc to strange flavoured stuff like vanilla barley wine and fruity sours.

DEYA tap takeover at The Craftsmen in Warwick on Thursday night. Forgot to go but popped in last night and still had them all on tap (like they will tonight probably too).

Had seven of their beers which I hadn't had before - still a few more to go .

Wychwood closed down recently too. Looks like most of the beers from both will continue to be brewed elsewhere but a real shame to see them go.
