Netflix - What gems have you found? (NO SPOILERS) (Vol. 2)
Discussion
We watched Bodkin last night , Podcasters & a Guardian reporter attempted to make a podcast about 3 missing people a few years ago in a sleepy country Irish town..
The plot gets thicker & thicker [ too thick Tbh ] as they discover & unveil more town secrets .
7 episodes when really there could have been 4
I'd give it a 7/10 as there are a few genuine funny moments .

A 2nd Season of Blood of Zeus is now available
May not be everyone's cup of tea but Greek Mythology was the only aspect of Latin (classics) at school that I enjoyed, so I have a pre-existing interest in the subject matter
It's by the people who made Castlevania, if that helps anyone
I really enjoyed S1 so am happy there is a S2
Thanks, I didn't know about this. I've almost finished S1, it's very good.May not be everyone's cup of tea but Greek Mythology was the only aspect of Latin (classics) at school that I enjoyed, so I have a pre-existing interest in the subject matter

Watching the credits, it's nice to see a few Greek names involved.

I watched about two and a half episodes of this tonight, fairly enjoyable so far. Took me a few minutes to work out where I’d seen Darragh the farmer before - Tom in Father Ted! The plot gets thicker & thicker [ too thick Tbh ] as they discover & unveil more town secrets .

Yep, complete ste
That women seems a bit unhinged but also seems like a lot of artist licence taken in story telling. It is all very odd, felt like a box ticking exercise tbh , too weird for me., the comedian seems like this new generation of unfunny comedians who basically don't make you laugh. Unless it is all fake tbh who knows nowadays.

I think his set was quite good, for what it's worth.

Gene Hunt has some of the best, but unusable today, quotes ever.
Wasn't the point of it that going back in time to the 70's Gene said some stuff that wouldn't be allowed today? Surely a film or TV can do that freely, it was just pasticheing cop shows from the 1970's right, it wasn't saying "this is how you act at work", it was just showing how things change. It lost its way a bit in the following series but life on mars is brilliant for sure.
I've been watching 'a man in full' and its rather good IMO, so much so i'm suddenly at the last episode and very invested in it.

That’s a good point, there are so many topics and expressions that are off limits now it must be very difficult to make an impact as a new comedian. Either it’s all been done before or, as you say, it’s just not very funny. Probably why he’s had to diversify into semi serious drama.
