Eurovision 2024
Discussion
Good job Hamas are known to be massive Eurovision fans, they love to dress up in colourful clothes and wave the rainbow flag...... oh hang on...
Protesting for a country that would kill homosexuals and stop women choosing what to wear..... what has even happened here...
Israel is the only country in the middle east that allows people to be homosexual, just like here some people might oppose it, but state wise it is accepted, unlike Palestine......
I can understand supporting innocent Palestinians, i support Iranian women in their fight, but i wouldn't wave an Iranian flag top make that point!

Here’s some footage of a mob attacking the police, apparently as they try to get to the singer to kill her.
I never had the Swedes down as being like this.

I doubt they're Swedes.
Everyone knows Eurvision is an extension of a Gay Pride day out, but this support for a group that would happily murder the LGBT+ community is absurd.
I'm also not comfortable with the overtly sexualisation of the acts. I happened to catch the UK offering on Tuesday. Any need for the thrusting hips and penis bulge cod pieces? Not to mention the implication repeatedly of oral sex with the microphone? Gay, I understand. Have no issue. Overt sexuality in a family environment I do. And I'm far from an old curmudgeon.
I'm concerned about the direction the Eurovision Song Contest is going in.

That clearly is not what the video is, it’s from 2009… the point the tweet is making is that if it happened then it could happen again. I never had the Swedes down as being like this.

The idea that a singer should be penalised and banned from performing because of their country’s actions is ridiculous. Shouldn’t have banned Russia from the event either and now people aren’t happy because they set a precedent.

There are no similarities between Russia and Israel in this case, Russia invaded Ukraine, Israel was the receiver of a terror attack killing kids at a music festival. The UK wasn't banned when we went into Iraq.
This is pure Jewish hatred on show...

Ahem - Spanish entry! The two Sam Smith clones (actually..., not clones..., more bears) writhing on a couch were superfluous to the performance and obviously there just to titillate the audience.I'm concerned about the direction the Eurovision Song Contest is going in.

There seems to be too many not hitting the notes.
The trend of the warbly vocals and bum notes continues into the second semi-final. Also the (predictable given last year's winner) overload of solo female acts, with another handful of Dua Lipa (Malta) and Ariana Grande (Austria - even down to copying one of her stage costumes) clones.

I was suprised Denmark didn’t make it, thought it was ace.
Reminded me too much of Måns Zelmerlöw's Heroes (2015 winner) both in staging and song.Edited by Evercross on Friday 10th May 11:20

Israel has been slaughtering Palestinians for 70 years. They have slaughtered around 35 thousand Palestinians in the last seven months.
Yes, they went to war in response to Gaza’s invasion. For some reason though the people of Gaza still won’t release the hostages, and so the war continues.Using that as an excuse to attack a young singer is abhorrent.

Did I hear the Swedish presenter correctly? I thought she said something like "Well, if you know the words to every Eurovision song then you're a proper homosexual, err I mean geek!" She was trying to be funny I suppose, so fair play.
However the "Don't be angry with us because we keep winning" routine - which seemed to go on forever - was excruciating and cringeworthy. Hope tomorrow night's entertainment during the voting break is better. Perhaps we'll see Mans Zelmerlow, or, who knows, Abba themselves?
My favourites so far are Croatia, Switzerland and Israel. France as an outside bet - thought the bloke had a great voice.

By your logic Germany shouldn't be allowed either.....Ironically and brings it on topic, the German entry is my favourite song.

That's where I am pretty much, I'm not watching this year due to the boycott but I don't have any ill will towards any performer. It is (in principle) an apolitical event.JerseyRoyal said:

Your not watching it in solidarity with Hamas who hate gays and women daring to wear make up and skirts.... go team woke!Eurovision is about countries who like peoples differences and sexuality freedom and female rights, coming together to show the miserable countries how crap they all are and sad and pathetic and angry....
Yet here we are.... the 'left' siding with the angry miserable lot.... shouting at the sky to an imaginary bloke....
