So rather than ignoring the allegations as you suggested he has refuted them? I cannot see past 'we have somebody who accuses you of sexual misconduct' what more he could do.
I doubt he was provided with the full info of what he was being accessed of past generalisms.
Rather like if I said to you I was going to accuse you of breaking PH rules tomorrow. All you could say is no I haven't until I revealed the details. You might however suggest that I was picking on you because we disagreed on things.
Have you watched the video he put out?

If not honestly I'd suggest doing so.

You've got a fair point to some degree but the whole "it's all a plot by my enemies" tone of it is just weird.

Earlier I was looking for Sach's granddaughter thought about the Brand/Ross thing at the time (she felt they did wrong, but that it was overblown) I found this interesting quote:

“You know I think Russell needs to learn a few lessons about respecting women, definitely, and maybe Jonathan Ross could maybe think before he speaks in the future. I don’t have any harder feeling than that.”

Russell Brand stayed at the hotel my wife was managing some years ago; she said that according to the staff he was perfectly polite and apart from lots of “coming and goings” his only request was for a yoga mat. My wife had one at home so I took it in for him and he presumably used it for the rest of his stay…..
I hope you disinfected/burned it after? biggrin

Weird how there are people saying they won’t believe anything said about Russell Brand before they’ve even heard what is being alleged and by whom and whether there’s supporting evidence or numerous unrelated similar allegations.

What would lead anyone to have such blind faith? I don’t remember similar faith in other celebrities who were later shown to have misbehaved, other than maybe Michael Jackson.

Get a lawyer, I’m sure him or his agents will know one who deals with this kind of thing, to write a letter saying “put up or shut up”. £200-£250 for a cease and desist letter. I’m sure he will have made more than that from the extra traffic to his videos because of the case.

Channel 4 and OFCOM right of reply rules are all laid out here:

He will have been given all of the details, except perhaps anything that could reveal confidential sources, not just general information.

So Lawrenxe Fox, Elon Musk and Andrew Tate are 'supporting' him.

I think I'd be compelled to go out and commit an outrage just to get them off my back.

“ In a clip posted on YouTube and to his social media platforms, the actor and comedian said he had received communications from a “mainstream media TV company” and a newspaper “listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks” that he “absolutely refutes”.

In my case it's more that if I already know the guy is a tt, and have seen repeatedly how these stories tend to be long on noise and short on actual facts, at least any facts worthy of outrage.

If a story pops up saying someone has done X/Y/Z when they already had a very well known reputation for it then it's hardly a big scoop.

If there's anything actually illegal gone on and they can prove it then a story splash *still* isnt the route to handling it. And if it isn't illegal then who gives a st?

The Times has published their story (paywalled):

"Investigation: Russell Brand accused of rape, sexual assaults and abuse"
"The comedian and actor Russell Brand has been accused of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse during a seven-year period at the height of his fame. // Four women have alleged sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013, while he was a presenter for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4 and then an actor in Hollywood films. Others have made a range of accusations about Brand’s controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour."

seems a bit of a non story. We'll see what comes out properly I guess but morality aside people are allowed to have consensual relationships.

It’s being reported as 4 women, rape and a 16 year old involved. He’s finished.

How many complaints have been made to the police? That’s all that is really relevant, Channel 4 and The Sunday Times are unlikely to prosecute him.

If there is "rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse", are the police involved?

He was finished anyway. Slipped away into irrelevance.
