I don't know Swindon, so I'm not going to comment on that element, but that is a good example of what I regard as pawn - cracking house, within decent sized grounds (0.5-1 acre is perfect for me) and yet, you're also within easy walking distance to stuff.
It's ok, I live round the corner so I can denigrate my doorstep, but it's a nice house that's had stuff done well and not too gaudily. Whilst I'm sure one not done up would be priced appropriately, this one has had a few quid spent on it and it will age well.

And there is a lovely small (tiny) pub 2 doors down.

ETA: probably not expensive enough to be considered 'pawn'.

Edited by MGJ2 on Wednesday 15th May 09:55

This is stunning. So simple yet imagine having that available to you - "Just off up to the tower terrace for a bit to read and finish my coffee". Bliss.

...lastly, to a top-floor terrace with a floor area of 20m² where the bells once were. From this top-floor terrace, you can admire a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside: a sweeping, panoramic vista of France’s beautiful Auvergne region, the Limagne plain, and the Chaîne des Puys volcanic mountain range, which was recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I was about to type it's half-finished, but it's not even that far advanced. The death stairs and death mezzanines are a bit of a worry.

I thought that. I'd be too scared to have a few glasses of wine living there. I've never done it before, not since I was a kid anyway, but I know for a fact that I'd roll out of bed the first night I moved in.

It's the first place that's actually suited for it! The bell tower couldn't be more perfect.

Very much liking this. My cousin lives on this private estate and it’s a very nice area with a private beach etc. This house looks like it needs a lot of work but if I had the cash I’d probably take it on as I’d love to be right on the sea. (It’s an academic exercise as I don’t have the cash - a couple of mill short). Apparently it’s the second best gaff on the estate. Arguably the best one my cousin tells me was the late Earl Spencer’s place called Tradewinds.

Don’t get me wrong, the Bay Estate is quite nice. But there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s in Bognor. This is not a good thing. I should know, I grew up there.

There is no way on earth I’d pay £3.5m and be anywhere near Bognor.

Only part of the coast I can imagine wanting to pay that much for down there is West Wittering.

Traffic hellscape but the only sandy beach!

So the view will continue to improve, right up until the sea claims it?
