Today's Trivia - The Sunderland Mark IV was so extensively modified from the Mk III that it was given a new name, the Seaford. It took so long to develop that it was beaten into production by the Sunderland Mark V and then the war ended. The prototype and six production Seafords were converted for civilian use as Solents and flown by BOAC and TEAL when new and later sold on to Aquila Airways.

My old dad flew in a Sunderland before bucket lists had been invented. I can remember the Saunders-Roe Princesses cocooned at Calcot Spit down Bobbers neck of the woods.
You need to get down to Pembroke Dock and the Museum down near the old Sunderland hangers, full of Sunderland stuff and history

I'm reading a book at the moment, Adventurous Empires, the history of the Short Empire flying boats

It seems my BT/EE fiasco continues.
If you remember, they forced us into having fibre by almost doubling the price of the existing 50mb line. It then took them some time to run in a new fibre cable, involved digging up the front garden etc and leaving a roll of fibre next to the house, not connected.
Latest installation date is now in June, however that hasn't stopped BT from billing us an extortionate amount because 'you're out of contract', £20 more than expected.

Phone them up, "erm who's fault is this, you haven't connected me yet, plus wheres my £20 discount promised for not getting the speed you promised."
Got the refund, plus the discount...

Not Gallstone-on-Sea, then Snowy? wink
Are you sure? There's a lot saying Great Yarmouth

In 1986 Birds Eye abandoned all its Yarmouth presence, switching its production to its factory over in Lowestoft according to the company history
Look it up on wikipedia Byker young fella, it's writ there in black and white see, developed at their factorary in that there Lowestoft
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birds_Eye

Everyday is a skool day doncherknow
yes
There's a lot of wrong reporting then...

Meanwhile - heres HRH the Duke of Edinburg visiting the Birds Eye Factory in 1960
https://www.britishpathe.com/asset/197953/
The thing is, it could all be completely wrong and be developed somewhere completely different, the british press and media are not known for their accuracy in reporting things.
I vote we go with
Fish Fingers were developed on the border between East Suffolk and Norfolk

That covers both bases yes

Non Trivial

Today I shall be tending to Mrs C's every need and neglecting my trivial duties. I'm taking her to the first of her cataract operations.

Be good. Sort out between yourselves who is in charge.
Best wishes to Mrs C, obvs.

Good luck with the cataract op, Mrs C.

The builders are having a gap-day in the bathrooms schedule. I'd been enjoying working form home with no background thumping, drilling, scraping etc.

Somebody in a neighbouring property has just fired up what sounds like a powered saw, perhaps gardening.

Arrived home, changed into my spanking new walking boots and walked down to meet Mrs Bobbers, then walked home.
Just finished pork and stilton sausages with mashed potatoes and mixed veg for dinner!

Good morning everyone. A brighter morning here so that’s a positive.
Yesterday’s scan showed my internal organs are in good too reasonable shape.
Arthritis of the lumbar region showed up and some calcification of the Aorta. Worryingly some historic asbestos exposure shows. The doctor says that nothing terrible from what he sees. Slight prostatic enlargement but nothing unusual for my age.

All these tests show I’m worth a fortune on the second hand market.

Scan took 30 minutes from start and ending with a five minute consultation and handing the typed out report, cd of scan and all photos/ex rays etc.
Next stop is to see my gp again then I’ve an another ticker appointment later in the year.

Any sign of the merde hitting the ventilator then I’m back on the booze for as long as possible I reckon.

IOTN. My spuds are growing like triffids with the onions in hot pursuit. Tomatoes are a bit meh but it’s early days with them. Radishes are up and green beans just popping out.

I’m away to collect young Gillian as she dropping off the triffic Trafic to get the garage to turn of some ‘re gen’ light before its mot.

Fout.
