Mind you, I can see the rationale behind it - you covered most of that with the "use 'I agree' or similar" - and it's just shorthand. The problem arises when someone quotes a massive post and JUST adds that. Resulting in much scrolling.
Course, because it's a shorthand and quick, it's unlikely people will take the time to edit the original down :

The thing with "+1" being a show of support for the poster's view - okay. I can see why people do that.
But is there any need to quote an entire post, or even to keep a load of nested quotes, only to shove "+1" on the end? It's okay for everybody browsing on their computers, but I can imagine it'd be a right PITA for anyone on a phone to have to scroll through lots and lots of quote, only to find "+1" on the end.
To facilitate matters, why don't people just say who they're agreeing with and then add "+1"? If they must add "+1" at all, that is.
