I got that (but not the second IYSWIM) by trying random words out of desperation.

6! Only had 8 unused letters left at the end. Not sure if that’s normal or what the lowest number of remaining letters is for others when they’ve gone to the wire.

Guessing the maximum remaining number would be 24 if you correctly guess a word like MAMMA or ESSES in your first attempt.

Two today, a stroke of genius or a lucky guess, blossom brought me down to earth with 252 and no pangrams.

5&4&355 with no pangrams, glad I'm not the only who had to work for it!
