First rumble of thunder in south Manchester. Sunny skies have now been replaced by menacing looking dark clouds.
No rumbles here in Preston yet but it's gone cloudy, pretty dark looking, like something is brewing.

Just had, well still having, the most crazy thunderstorm I ever experienced in the UK in the NW.
45 mins so far of constant thunder and lightning.

Hmmm, I put the lid over the lamb burgers as the fat was flaring but got a bit close when I lifted it again. The fireball had a fair bit of my fringe, eyebrows and eyelashes!

Let's be careful out there folks! rolleyeshehe

Fantastic weekend here. Full weekend of cricket, coaching juniors, playing seniors (badly), running the juniors game. Got my tan already, even with factor 30 on. Swear we must have had an Italian milkman before I was born. Rest of my family get sunburn from a torch.

Just lit the pizza oven. Neighbours angry slammed their windows shut. Alright calm down its not like you're not irritating door slamming fktards.

Clouded over now. Think I'm out of the fun zone for a storm unfortunately.

Unusually easterlies prevail. No thunder fun in Leeds.

How did we survive thunder and lightening without Sky News instructions on how to stay safe… very thorough with pre-storm, during the storm and post-storm instructions. Also a very helpful section on how to drive during a thunderstorm…

I have no idea how the human race survived without it for all these millions of years????

I did wonder if a there was something going on - my flight earlier from Bristol to Inverness was pretty lively with several bouts of turbulence that were bad enough to get a few screams.
