Not sure if anyone will be able to offer any advice but Google isn't throwing up any answers for me...

A woman of 65 gets a state pension.

A couple of years ago she heard about something (not sure of the name of it) that allows her to claim extra based on her divorced husbands earnings/pension.

If she were to meet a new partner and move in with him would she lose the right to this "extra" and revert back to standard state pension.

Anyone know or able to offer advice/point me in the right direction links wise please?

Much appreciated. smile

She is entitled to half of any monies which were paid into private/work pensions whilst they were married.

Unless the blokes solicitor had it written into the devorce agreement, that it was a clean break devorce, and she has agreed to give up any claim to his pension.

Pension sharing on divorce - when a married person has a company/private pension and they subsequently get divorced, an application can be made to the court by the other party for pension sharing. In such case, the Trustees of the pension will normally calculate how much the divorced partner is entitled to and buy them a pension outside of the standard scheme.

Has to be done through court settlement though, so if they didn't do this when they got divorced, they can't turn around and ask for it now.

Thanks for the advice so far chaps.

She been getting extra pension (through pension sharing) for a while now.
It started just after they got divorced.

She just wondered if she would still be entitled to it if she moved in with a new partner and ultimately remarried.

I think it makes perfect sense for her ex to be still supporting her financially when she has remarried.

In the diseased twisted mind of a money grabbing self centered moral vacuum.

It was with regard to State Pension and previously earned credits not a former spouses personal pension.
Although I do agree with your logic had it been otherwisesmile

But her new husband might have lost half of his pension to his first wife etc...

It either has to apply to everyone or no one.
