Will VAR Change Football for the Better?
Discussion
Every supporter should be able to recount at least one major injustice, some that matter in the wider scheme, some don’t.
My recollection is the Chelsea match which was effectively a winner takes all. Drogba, off the bench to score an offside goal. We lost the match 2-1 and the tile by one point a few weeks later
The reality is that we didn’t lose the title in that one match, but it still hurts to look back and see it.
By the same token, we all conveniently forget the decisions that go in our favour.
Reference, the Mendez “goal”, I was at the other end of the pitch and I could see quite clearly that it was a goal, so god knows how the ref didn’t.

People will happily say "we got relegated because of a terrible penalty decision in the last game of the season." But they forget that they would have gone into that game already relegated had they not got that dodgy pen in the last minute of a game back in November!

I agree, that was the point I was making, albeit quite badly. There could be an argument for the lesser teams though to get annoyed, as they all tend to be treated more harshly than the top sides. That fits in nicely as I remember Macheda (whatever happened to him?) using his arms to equalise By the same token, we all conveniently forget the decisions that go in our favour.
Mine is always the Barcelona semi-final in 2009. All set up for a rematch with United 12 months on from Moscow between 2 top teams. Robbed.

The ref isn't for using the VAR tonight.
It didn't help he got the Willan penalty call all wrong.
That just goes to show hoe difficult it is. I thought it was a dive and after seeing numerous slow and fast replays I still see Wilian jump over the Norwich guys legs and then make sure his trailing foot catches his shin to validate the penalty claim. So for me the ref got it right. It didn't help he got the Willan penalty call all wrong.

Morata was looking for a penalty all night. He's going down under any contact and expecting the video to show that. That's the bad side of the VAR.

Conte jumping up and down demanding
Along with the flair and skill it's what overseas players/managers bring with them. Glassman said:
The inference was towards their attitude and (often) acting/acting up.
I know they do that, especially Conte who likes to run around like a clown on the touchline. It’s just the way they’ve suddenly adopted the TV sign like in cricket / Rugby League. It’s fking ridiculous. cqueen said:
Willan dived imo, left a deliberate trailing leg so there was 'contact'.
I didn't watch the match so can't comment however this engineering of fouls to con/dupe the referee is frustrating to watch, just as feigning a head injury to foil an attack is. Don't even start me on the minimal knee contact and they go down clutching their face ste. No way was that a dive from Willian. There was obvious unnatural leg hanging going on like we often see. He was moving a very quick pace, jinked around the defender and within a fraction of a second was clipped by the leg of the defender who had put in a ridiculous tackle. Penalty all day long
