What does this Transit carry?

Local garage has had this on their forecourt for a few days, probably waiting parts.

Can’t work out what would normally be on the back, and what the guttering pipes are for. Any ideas?

I quite often see the garage owner opening up when I’m getting back from my morning walk so will try and find out

Spoke to the garage owner this morning and it is part of a fleet of gritters.

He has no idea what the drain pipe is for either!
