Getting rid of books
Discussion
I've a couple of hundred books (at a guess, could be up to 400) I want to get rid of, I pretty much use my Kindle these days for general fiction stuff.
Before anyone has a go about how sacred books are, these are basic chart paperbacks and the like, nothing worth worrying about
What do I do with them?
Car boot sale? 50p a go, i'd make £100ish and have to deal with all the crap that comes with doing one of those, hardly seems worth the effort.
Charity shop? I don't have any boxes to put them in, so i'll have buy a load of boxes just to be able to give them away.
Take them down the tip? Seems a shame, they are all perfectly readable, and i'd still need to transport them so will need boxes.
Ebay? One at a time? No bloody chance, but as a job lot, would people buy them like that? If I could cover the cost of boxing them up then maybe, but it's still a fair amount of effort to list them all.
Freecycle? Again, need to box them up still.
Not sure I have any other option, i'm going to have to buy boxes regardless aren't I.

No you won't. Just put them in plastic carrier bags and drop them off.Cheers for the supermarket idea people, i'll investigate.

Is there a hospice/ old folks home local to you?they might appreciate the books.
I'm not sure they will be that interested in 40 Star Wars books etc... but i'll have a look. Last I heard, charity shops weren't that interested in paperbacks either, as they can't sell them anymore. Flying Toilet said:
There is a book share shop just opened in Newport Pagnell next to our shop if any use, they may even collect. I can find out if you like.
Just the name will be good enough, i'm too idle to actually do anything at the moment, so it might be a while before I sort them all out Gassing Station | Books and Literature | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
