Greatest anything is emotive. Which 4 seat car did the most for motoring? Some old Saab or Volvo probably.

I bought the Skoda variant for the wife/daughter to share. Whenever I drive it, I’m pleasantly surprised how good these are. As a tall person, I’m amazed at the space front and rear. They drive like a bigger car too. Lovely.
I'd put a load of old US muscle in here. Not sophisticated, but significant, fun, fast and often beautiful. "Greatest" is a broad church: but these 1960s machines were very significant in the history of cars. Sure, an equivalent 4 seater Ferrari would have been loads better at the time - but muscle cars were bought in their millions, and raced by ordinary people. They were modified, drag raced, street raced and circuit raced. They were blue collar motoring exotica, and remain an enduring cultural phenomenon.
Picking one is difficult, as loads of classics - but the original Mustang kicked off the whole thing, and something like a 1969 Boss 429, or one of the Shelby variants will be up there. It's probably going to be a Mustang, for this thread, just for historical significance.
Personally, I picked a 1969 427 Camaro. I had it out last weekend, and it was hilarious. 7 litres of choppy idle and V8 howl, 450bhp, 450lb feet of torque, with the chassis dynamics of a Roman chariot, and the steering feel of a tanker.
I loved every second and frankly, just like to stare at it.
