150 cars too big for modern parking spaces
Discussion
Interesting article here:

I'm guilty of owning a large SUV as we regularly travel with a full load of passengers and sports kit around the UK. I concur that some parking spaces are too small. If I can park in the space, I would struggle to exit, and cars next to mine would struggle too.
I would welcome provision of extra wide spaces and would expect to pay more for that compared to a standard width space. No doubt though that we would end up with smaller cars availing themselves and not paying. So solution to new problem will bring another one (like lack of etiquette at EV charging points).
Sad that some people see it OK to deflate tyres. I would take issue with anyone touching my car.

Seems to me that car manufacturers make what people want....bigger cars..it is not often you see a new model being reviewed and that they say it is x inches narrower or y inches shorter. We still buy them.
Have to say though that next time I change car, I may go for the model down as that is probably the same size as my current steed. Going bigger still is just too big to easily live with. Perfect in use...4 people, luggage, medical kit and 2 large sports bags with 50kg in them. Pain when it comes to leaving it anywhere.
However, how can developers be encouraged to change? If they can only fit 20% less spaces on a plot by making them large enough...they won't do that unless they charge a premium. They are not keeping pace with trends. Multistorey will struggle.
