We did that with our 997.1 C4s. It wasn’t knackered or, at 65k, that leggy but it’s like new underneath now thanks to 4.1 Hartech (with clutch, pumps, oil and coolant lines, engine mounts, cats, manifolds etc) and a complete rebuild with new dampers, arms and bushes at CoG. Oh, and DSC module too. Drives amazingly. And because it’s 18 years old it flies under most people’s radar.
Just need to smarten up the crossmembers. And try and stop after that….

This Halfords gadget seems to do the trick holding my phone ok, nice and sturdy, you can tighten the clamp into the vent, and its rubber lined so does not scratch the plastic.
Only £8 too
.

Good shout on the phone holder... I couldn't find anything that fit correctly, as the vents slope away.

So I went full man maths, and designed this:

Then fired up the 3D printer:

And fitted:

Then I could clip on the wireless charger

Just did a trip the 'ring and back via France and it was solid the whole time, which was great.

I need to tweak a little, and maybe raise the camp point, but happy it sits close to the dash and doesn't interfere with my hands on the steering wheel.

Wow, that’s impressive.

Thanks! Happy to print some more if people have the holder with the 4 female clips to clip into it.

This is v4, so I think v5 may have a small round end on the lower part to help it clip into the gap between the PCM and vents... And maybe move the support a little higher. The latter may be different for different things to clip onto it I guess.

Peak 997?
All in the eye. 997SC has always been awfully tacky to mine. I'd rather a nicely specced 3.8S at the same money. For the actual price, the idea it's a more desirable car than a .2 GT3 fairly incomprehensible.

It's also 991.1 R money. Doesn't even come close!

I've always thought the same, its just a GTS in drag in a crap colour and fuchs wheels don't suit it. Over £300k? My word!

Am I the only one who doesn't like the side profile of the fatter c4 rear arch. Assuming of course this uses the c4 shell as per the GTS and 997 gt3 RS - but on the gt3 RS the car is sitting lower and therefore the side profile isn't as ugly to me.

2wd Carrera S shell, but with C4S rear arches, apparently

That's not right, it's the full AWD shell. You can see the CS has the seam line down the sill like all the AWD drive shells, just like the GTS models including the 2WD models. It'll have the smaller front boot, too.

Don't really know why, but the sills on the wide body car are quite different to the narrow body, more obvious here with the lower sill in black / dark grey whereas it's body colour on the CS.

So, this car, which is still on AT privately seems to be advertised at Paragon too

Another reason for me to dislike it. I prefer the simpler 2wd.
