308 mandatory daytime running lights :(
Discussion
Thanks for all the helpful answers!!!
I found some nice looking lights in the Hella range and am awaiting confirmation that therese are conform with ECE-R 87
They have halogen bulbs and not LED so mounted on or behind the grille they should look quite nice and more "period" then blue-ish LED strips
Now I hope they are certified for Europe as "RL"
for those who speak German, here is a really good site detailing the rules: Ihr Informationsportal für Tagfahrleuchten

Hi, 308 looks great and a pity that you seem to be forced to fit additional lights. I may be worth your while contacting PH member FerrariV8 who was particularly helpful in providing a solution to a query I raised in respect of my 328(see Ferrari 328 GTS/GTB thread). Hope you find a solution without having to spoil the appearance of such a great looking car.

Flashers were an option as a factory order on the 308 and look very period when fitted , personally I don't think they spoil the look of the car but it's a personal thing Jonty355 said:
Wouldn't your pop ups be up anyway? My '82 GTBi pops its lights up when the sides are on? Should it not do that?
Read the OP Jonty. He does not want to have to pop up the lights for each and every drive, whether day or night. Quite reasonably, IMO. You may as well bolt the pods open. It changes the car's styling dramatically.Nmj said:

No, it shouldn't I know I can definitely have them up without the headlights on

Not quite true, I think. iirc, the lights are wired differently for different markets. In European markets, the lights pop up even if just for the sides to allow the habit of flashing oncoming traffic (which needs the pods up). So a turn of the stalk is needed to allow this. In the US version, the pods stay down. iirc, you can fiddle with relays and diodes to make things work differently.Behemoth said:

Also I can definitely have my headlights popped up but not lit if I choose to 100 IAN said:
Nice source, Ian. Thank you. I'm looking for a discrete rear fog I can hide away somewhere on mine.Gassing Station | Ferrari Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
