Cazoo had well over 8000 on sale at their peak so they've been shrinking for a while

Just been on their website and the total cars for sale has gone from 3000+ earlier today to just over 800.
Does anybody know who bought them?
Big Motoring World we're apparently in negotiations with them..?
I know that Peter Waddell mentioned that but does anybody know whether Big Motoring World actually bought them and, if not, who did?

I think he got kicked out his own company the very next day,
Don’t know whether it was related.

Have not seen them appear in the normal places, not even in their own Cazoo Wholesale auctions so maybe they have done a direct deal with someone.

If I were them I would just reduce the prices a bit and keep on retailing whilst scaling down.

There are 443,000 cars on Autotrader (I know some of the number will be New car placeholders), so 3000 cars (that were already listed for sale?) is a fraction of the market.
At one point in time a couple of years ago Cazoo had the theoretical capacity to push 120k cars p/a through their remarketing centres. So whilst they’ve been scaling this operation back for the last year and a bit there should still theory be many, many more cars in their “system” that haven’t or hadn’t reached retail sale standards yet.

The effect IMHO won’t appear in retail prices but may temporarily lower trade prices as the Cazoo disposals have to work there way through other remarketing centres and onto forecourts of used dealers that are mostly overstocked currently.

He’s taking a leave from big and is in legal talks with his partners, not his choice.

Cazoo sold them to the highest bidder for each car so they went to many people in the trade.

He's not a nice man to do business with, so i can imagine he's probably missed off the wrong people this time

Where did Cazoo offer the cars to the highest bidder?

Select suppliers and groups had the list.

Are Cazoo offering any discounts on their advertised prices at the moment or will we need to pay full asking price?

He still owns 62% of the shares so in direct control or not he will not be out of pocket plus he has a huge personal property portfolio so we won't be seeing him at the dole office...rolleyes

Sounds like they cocked that up as well then as they listed hundreds of cars on the Autorola trade auction platform with high reserves during the week but none seemed to sell.

As for sending out a list, I know of two fairly senior buyers in two dealer groups who were not offered anything.

It was a select list, they didnt send it to everyone and as far as I know all the cars sold.

The 800 they have left are coming this week.

Cazoo share price closed up 58% today.

Does anybody have any idea what is behind that?

They're a fking penny share still worth less than a month ago, big % rises are misleading in the least. Could be down more than the same by the end of the week. If they announced an actual cash sale of enough stock it may have just bumped the balance sheet. From absolute ste to still pretty much absolute ste.

Looks like Carsa got some. Sure this Focus was on my watch list with Cazoo. Still has a Cazoo reg plate on and the photos look like Cazoos.

Agree but currently up a further 40% today - with a busines that is pivoting away from selling its own cars and is getting rid of its stock and dealerships.

With that in mind, notwithstanding its penny share status, two substantal rises in two consecutive days suggests sombody must see an upside - somebody must know something.

Sweeping statement, maybe they had a car supermarket that they sold to Cazoo and contractually had to do a short period of time with them before moving on. Knowing what they know about the trade and having a few quid why not go again.
