Was chatting in a group chat the the MINI Cooper Goodwood came in to conversation. It's a MINI which had it's interior finished with Rolls-Royce materials.

There are other cars like the Aston Martin Cygnet, but in reality it still is very Aygo.

I was wondering if there are any other cars which are a lovely place to be but aren't an S-Class, 7 Series, XJ, Bentley etc?

My first car was a Princess 1100 VP with perhaps an even nicer dashboard in walnut complimented by leather seats , rear picnic tables in walnut and a leather sunroof.
But unfortunately not a very nice place to be driving.

I really like the interior of my 695 Abarth Competizione.

It's just a Fiat 500 inside but the alcantara and leather steering wheel, dark cloth interior, alcantara instrument binnacle and the Sabelts seats just makes it so much more classy than the Fiat 500 Hybrid that I was in for a few weeks before.

I keep thinking that I'm in my previous Mustang GT except it's a lot easier to park biggrin

Nice. I have a Panda 100hp and have considering getting those seats put in.

I remember my wife's uncle having a Kia Magentis about 20 years ago, the interior in that was really nice, full leather with "wood" inlays in the door armrests etc. If you didn't see what car you'd got in to you would have assumed it was something premium and german. Very comfortable.

I have seen photos of them with leather seats, but I've always thought the Honda E's interior looked a nice place to be, for a city car.

1970's Atari 2600 vibes. I wonder if you can play PacMan on the dashboard screens?

I like that! Your comment made me wonder - and appears so

"Thanks to the standard HDMI input, you can connect games consoles and the like, or cast TV and movies directly from your phone using Chromecast. You can even turn the screens into a digital aquarium if you wish. All of this is designed to make a potential wait at a charging point more enjoyable, and can’t be used while the car is moving. You can also dim or turn off the screens if you wish, to reduce the chance of distraction on the road."

The controls under the dash look like a 70s underslung radio from Halfords. Very retro.

I suspect nowadays there isn't the same need for a top trim level. The top of each range has more electronic features and/or held back colours/trim than anything luxurious. I think the drive is to get people to move up to the next tier rather than up a trim level. After all we are so much less constrained by our horizons these days...

Cygnet isn't an Aygo, it's an IQ...or are they the same inside? Renault 5 Monaco had lovely squishy leather seats!!

Agree, love the interior on these. Shame about the cars pricetag though!

That's true, they're not cheap! Would be quite fun to play a consol of some kind whilst it's charging.. Plugging it in to the 3 pin plug.

Another one I always thought looked stunning was the DS5,

Especially with the dark brown leather, I have seen them with a leather dash as well, I particularly like the buttons on the roof!
