De-bumperisation of imported pork
Discussion
Hi all,
Anyone out there had experience of removing those delightful US standard bumpers from around the rear number plates of either Boxsters or 996s? Is it complicated or is it just a case unbolting them and filling the holes with some..er. filler.
I assume the rest of rear of these cars is the same as the euro spec cars and one is not taking one's life in one's hands by removing these items....statements confirming the bleedin' obvious or otherwise welcome.

You need a new bumper (ebay or otherwise) and a new crash bar for behind it (or a grinder/air saw and cut off the offending metal parts that stick out and through the bumper).
Unbolt US parts and bolt on euro parts. Job done.
The holes when the bumperettes are removed are pretty big. Given how cheap a 986 or 996 bumper is it will be cheaper to just get a replacement instead of trying to fill.
