I get the impression there's a gathering of Allroad owners here on Pistonheads, especially from the PH C7 buying guide, so I thought I'd start an owners thread to see if it has any "traction" haha.

I sold my A6 Avant to cash in on the used car prices (and due to an imminent move out of London) and got myself an Allroad with the same 272 TDI. It's a Tornado grey 65 reg with 127K miles. So far I've cleaned the leather (inc steering wheel), replaced the rear tyres and tomorrow it's having a gearbox oil change for peace of mind. That'll be it until two front tyres in a couple of months.

Options on it are quite scarce. It's got BOSE, better nav, heated wheel and body coloured wheel arches. I think that's it. Oh it's a Sport so it's got the same seats I'm used to on the A6. Nice to have proper exhaust pipes again!

Show us your Allroad; A4/A6, all welcome!

Nice cars both.

Before I bought my previous car I saw a 66 reg Bi-TDI at Milton Keynes (saw it online) and it was very nicely specced, although above budget at the time, something around £35K in 2018. It was green with beige leather and had a few options and with a reg starting with OW so possibly an Audi UK car first.

Any more Allroad owners about?

Nice car! Looking at its MOT history, you're only about 25 or 30K miles ahead of me and nice also to see the contrasting interior.

Ouch! Sorry to see that!

I know you mention "bronze" on the previous page, but what colour is yours, is it Dakota Grey? V nice, especially if you say you have the beige interior.

Great cars both. I will admit the Allroad doesn’t look as good in silver, err, sorry I mean Tornado Grey! It was however the cheapest example with the stuff I was used to ie LED lights, same wheels and seats etc. It has since had a very good report from the service, having been mostly been used as a motorway car by the previous owner.

Morning all!

After a good review by the mechanic who serviced my Allroad a week after I bought it, I have since discovered that on the highest suspension setting (well, actually the second highest) I can hear creaking from the rear, both sides. I don't have any warning messages or any other noises. I will get this checked out but it's not top of the list yet as it's still a London car so the need for raising the height is not great!

Another thing I noticed early on when cleaning the seats and steering wheel one night after collecting the car - the interior lights are classic bulbs - it really dates the interior I think! It's a head scratcher as the car has the ambient lighting (inc exterior door handle lights) so it's a bit of a mix. My 2010 A1 even had LED interior lights. Anyway, small things!

The heated steering wheel's nice.

Not sure if A4 Allroad counts
Yep, all Allroads welcome!

I like those wheels on the first A4 Allroad. I looked at them for a bit, then found out I could get into a current shape (albeit 2.0) for £20K. Anyway I then lowered my budget by £5K and went back to looking at A6 Allroads for familiarity and to be able to keep the rubber mats from my Avant sold to Cazoo!

Hope you get those issues sorted!

Have now done done 3k miles in mine since getting it - and the car itself through 130K miles this week and going well. Topped up the Adblue earlier in the week and got the first litre or so on my jeans and shoes. I'll blame the cheap Halfords nozzle!

Otherwise all ok. Still get the rear squeaks but it's rarely sat higher than the second-from-bottom setting but will aim to book it into the Phirm in Camberley for its next service later in the year instead of taking it to the local garage.

Going to look at a 2017 A4 All Road this weekend with the intention to purchase - anything to look out for?
How did your viewing go? Have only just come back to the thread but check you're happy with rear legroom. In addition, until a month ago there were two 2017 A4 Allroads in my extended family, both 3.0 272s. One had heated seats (front) and the other didn't so I guess they weren't standard at the time!

Just for laughs, thought I'd mention that there's a Solar Orange Allroad 272 on Autotrader. I presume it's the same car that was on there a couple of months ago. Whoever is brave enough to go with the colour will get a well specced car - HUD, rear heated seats, roof, lane assist, adaptive cruise etc.

Please can I pick your collective Allroad minds.

I currently drive a Volvo XC70 (their version of the Allroad) and absolutely love it. However, I'm looking for a change and the C7 A6 Avant in BiTdi form is currently top of the list. Should I be looking at the Allroad over the standard Avant? What are the differences, is one better than the other?
I'd say the same sort of things you'd look for or want on a standard Avant really. Principally, look at the nav, even if you'll never use it, the better nav comes with a bigger MMI screen and a touchpad down by the gearstick, where as the lesser version (smaller screen) has radio preset buttons there instead. Be careful, just because you're looking at the Bi-TDI versions, it doesn't mean they came with the better nav as standard!

Sport trim on the Allroad is the equivalent of S-line on the Avant, so if I've got this right, any lesser a trim level on the Allroad comes with what I call the "flat" seats.

I changed from a Black Edition Avant to my Allroad Sport in October for two reasons, to free up cash for a house move and to not have a pristine, well specced Avant ruined by two kids and numerous Hampshire pot holes! When I was looking for the Allroad, I wanted the same engine (272) and at least BOSE and the better nav (as I had both (and more) in the Avant).

Let us know how you get on!

How's everyone's Allroads going? I've had mine a year next month. Can't believe how fast the time has gone.

Mine passed through 134,000 miles a few days ago. As mentioned previously I've got the squeaky suspension issue but also now cropping up occasionally is an issue with the handbrake (light on dash then flashing light on the handbrake button itself) so I am looking to get it booked in with the specialist in the next couple of weeks for those two issues.

Am intending to keep this one until at least 150,000 miles, all being well!

My Allroad was in for a service today - all ok there - and also had a temporary fix to the squeaky suspension noise I get in anything higher than the second-lowest ride height.

The list of advisories though is solid, and I hope to get the work done in December, eek!

Injector cylinder 2 leaking
Turbo waste gate arm is beginning to leak
Cam cover gaskets beginning to weep
Replace rear bump stops and upper shock mounts
NSR light level sensor linkage is seized
Centre exhaust clamp corroded
OSF lower rear suspension arm bushes perishing
... and another four or five lines!

mileage 135,500

If I remember, I'll ask tomorrow (about L-R specific) when hopefully I'll get the quote back.

It's cheaper and less hassle than changing cars, and if I was buying my car in 15,000 miles time (I'd look for a replacement at 150K miles I think), I'd be fine with seeing the paperwork to say all this work's been done.

Nice car!

I had the car's suspension squeak sorted temporarily when it was in for its service and would be interested to know how long that would last for, but it's getting sorted properly in a couple of weeks when it goes in for a few bits.

Nice pic!

Mine's in today for an overnight stay. Planning on keeping it until at least 150,000 miles then the crib sheet from the work being done today and tomorrow should make for a very reassured next owner!
