Any chance values will start to push back up if insurance prices fall?

Renewal for my Velar came through, £1300 up from £980.

3 mins on Confused & I have plenty of quotes from £680 so pleased with that. Surrey Gatwick area.
Interesting, I live in that area and the renewal on my Disco5.5 is due in July so I’m hoping things continue to drop. It’s on a multicar which helps a bit, but reading your comment has given me some hope that it’s not going to be too bad.

I paid a few pounds shy of £900 last year (up from £700 the year before).

My best work mate has a 2023 90 V8 Carpathian. She paid £4k to insure it last year after a 80mph in a 50 van. This year someone reversed into her and accepted fault. Wing, wheel, tyre and hire car. About £6k claim.
Only one insurer in UK is offering a price at £18k.

I've tried all my usual suggestions to help and brokers and specialists, but I think she will be forced to sell. Has anyone any insurance suggestions or ways to help. A no fault claim shouldn't multiple by 4+ ?

B&Q called, they want their outdoor furniture back.

Does that have little steps in it or is it smooth? Must be annoying trying to slide something in the back and it getting stuck on the lip
I'd imagine a car like that is for display, rather than work.

Looks like JLR are taking steps to tackle this issue - might be a case of the horse has bolted though.

We own a 2020 Evoque, so not one of the models highest on the list for targeted theft.

Even so, we had a recall letter yesterday inviting us to book in for "the latest suite of security enhancements". The letter goes on to acknowledge 'the recent increase in vehicle theft' and ' a commitment to protect our clients'.

The recall code is N862 for reference. Yet to speak to the dealership so unsure how long this will take and whether this is a software update only.

Hope this helps.

Use Land Rover Assist to perform the update, if you have the option.

It'll then take hours/days rather than weeks/months it likely would with a dealer.

Not sure I’d be trusting an ota update not to ‘brick’ my car, frankly.

It's not OTA. The process is the same whether it's done on your drive or at the dealers.

We all have the choice though...

My L405 went into the dealers for this update a couple of months ago and it only took 30 minutes to install

Why would a JLR targeted update “brick” the car? Utter nonsense. But hey ho PH at its finest.

I had assumed (wrongly) that the update was available ota.

We also get a letter too this week (2020 Velar).

I need a service, some new discs and tyres too. Expensive week!

Mine's booked in - apparently about 20mins or so. Enough time for a coffee and an email or two.

i've seen a lot less of them recently, completely anecdotal with no real stats behind it. that said, seen a lot of the new RRS on the road.

Quite a few around here have recently gone and not been replaced with a new one.

Work in London and live to the West. Loads of new FFRR and Sport - insurance hysteria seems to have dropped off.
