My current 40" 4K TV is a Samsung (only because 40 was the max size for the space and that was the only <42" 4K on the market), which replaced a similar 40" HD Samsung.
I wouldn't buy another. I'm sure it's not limited to Samsung, but my issue with them isn't necessary hardware, but software related. After about 3 years it started playing up, dropping WiFi constantly (no other devices were having issues so it was definitely the TV and not our internet), apps not loading properly, the 'Smart hub' slowly becoming a dumb hub..
Then when issues occurred, I'd troubleshoot them, follow the online help guides (on their own website) and it would show steps and menu options that are literally no longer available in the TV settings, because they've been removed via software updates
It's blatant planned obsolescence and it drives me up the wall.

I've had two now, both were top-of-the-line when I bought them. First one developed a very faint line on it when it was 10 years old, lasted another 5 after that before the HDMI ports stopped recognising inputs with no further deg to the screen (you could barely notice this line but once I'd seen it that was it).
Second one has been good, software can be a bit stuttery sometimes but the old "switch it on and off again" sorts it.
If you want an LED panel I really don't think there's many better options (if any tbh). I may go to OLED next but as my TV sits in direct sunlight when buying the last two OLED just wasn't bright enough, the tech has now moved on enough that it's a possibility.

I’d bought a 55 inch Samsung led tv last year, only lasted a short time before the screen failed.
Certainly seemed to be poorer quality than the old Samsung monitor I still have that works fine and is well built.
Luckily bought the tv from John Lewis and they replaced it with a LG which has been fine. Their guarantee is one of the reasons for using them.

My Samsung had the screen go twice in the first 2.5 years, second time not covered.
I would only buy a TV with a 5 year warranty from now on.
5 year warranty from John Lewis on all TVs.I would only buy a TV with a 5 year warranty from now on.
The ones I bought were cheaper there too!
