I use the cockpit view and have to use the analog stick to check what's around me. Mine is the same as yours, bumper and bonnet cam have a large rear view mirror.

Use Psychology said: yep, just to add there's a reason that you only see passing in one or two places at most race circuits Part of the fun is forcing a mistake from the guy in front letting you get a clean run through a corner, tail gating or 'drafting' is the best way to do that.

I use the cockpit view and have to use the analog stick to check what's around me. I prefer to use cockpit, as my driving is far more predictable when I can see where my wheel is pointing. Online, I have the same problems. Mirrors are to small, have to look around etc. When people are near me I switch to third person, but I'll often crash in that view. There must be a better way? Tips needed!

I always use far chase cam when playing online, as it gives me the best 360 degree view of others around me and I've got used to judging where the person is in front of me and how close I can get into the corners using this view.
The aussie V8 race the other night was incredibly close, and very little contact from anyone throughout. It can be done. Every evening has its moments, but agree that it becomes quite frustrating when its nearly every race.

John_S4x4 said: I presume that because it was a 'straightline car', the brakes are not as good as everybody elses and everybody braked 'normally', but didn't watch where I was braking, hence I got hit from behind. I have found that sometimes, on certain tracks, that using a high power, fast accelerating car, can get you to the 1st corner first and hence avoid the usual 1st corner pile up, from the approaching pack of cars. Nothing wrong with what you do as you are a considerate driver John. Again it is the arrogant driver behind who expects you to move out the way for them/dives on the inside where there is no room and nudges you offline/rams you up the arse on the starting grid because there is no room either side of you.

I will be on at around 7. If anyone fancies getting some earlier races going that would be great as I get up for work at silly o'clock and by the time the lobbies are really getting going im ready for sleep!
Regarding the driving ive got to admit that sometimes my ambition out weighs my talent (thankyou Casey!) but I always try and race cleanly, and will send a message to say sorry if I have properly cocked it up!

I'd much rather ruin just my race than someone else's as well! Ditto +1 Agreed. +2 But accidents do happen, most are avoidable though but when the car in front is covering your usual line it is difficult to see where to go and where to brake, hanging back is the only way to stop this. Yup or if you are passing just let them know, so there aware of where you are and can avoid a collision, well that's what I do most times when it's a close pass. No harm saying on your left/right + gamertag. or use the mirrors? That's part of the problem though, people not using their mirrors Sorry Jay I punted you off good and proper last during the Aussie race around Le Mans, locked up and tried to avoid you but it wouldn't stop. Sorry mate!

Ill admit im terrible at overtaking and the only person i ever seem to love tap is Graham.
I find the most annoying thing is when people spin off they just pull straight back onto the racing line
