What is is with guys with straight line cars that refuse to brake or avoid people that are in front of them?? If there is no gap on the track in front of you, you wait till there is, you dont just go straight through them, especially at the start of a long straight start like the Ring you have plenty of time to pass.
+1, It's not always about winning, especially when you ruin the race for others in the process.
Yep...a few bad incidents tonight but then it happens at times, hopefully the offenders will read and learn.

otherwise "FREE KICK"

Odd. The ipad won't open it!

What is it?
I really do get annoyed at that. Copy and paste the link in safari? Usually works for me.

It's a silly power E34 M5 leaving all of it's rear tyres on the road in one burnout

If anyone saved the replay of the Ring race it would be handy.
I don't know what caused that, but I got caught up in it as well as half the grid mad
I saved the replay. No one person was at fault. The accident was caused by four cars side by side on the straight, a bump in the road led to the slightest of nudges, but the speed meant that all four cars went into uncontrollable slides towards each other and the walls. The pack following did their best to avoid the chaos ahead, but that in turn created a few more collisions.

I will try to upload it this evening.

I had the opposite of this happen to me in a online race recently. I chose to use my RedVictor1 tribute A600 car for a race round Catalunya. This is plenty fast down the straights smile but slower round the corners. I know that the car won't win the race, but can keep up and is within 1 to 2 seconds a lap of everbody else (except Flukey hehe ). Started 8th, got a good start and put the power down. By the end of the start straight, I was in 2nd place. I braked to scrub the speed off for the 1st corner, knowing that I shouldn't just plow straight on, that I need to make the tight inside line of the 1st corner, so needed to take into account braking for that. I get to the 1st corner losing a position, but arrive, ready for the tight apex and them BANG ! Get hit from behind and then lots of BANGS and SMASHES. Drop from 3rd to 13th losing 10 places ! (Finished 7th BTW biggrin )
I presume that because it was a 'straightline car', the brakes are not as good as everybody elses and everybody braked 'normally', but didn't watch where I was braking, hence I got hit from behind.
I have found that sometimes, on certain tracks, that using a high power, fast accelerating car, can get you to the 1st corner first and hence avoid the usual 1st corner pile up, from the approaching pack of cars.

I was. It's becoming tiresome that every time you either overtake Luke or are overtaken by him you can bet your bottom dollar there's contact. Even it's just a tiny nudge, there's contact.

Just rein it in slightly bud, people turning in on you etc aren't excuses, if you can't make it cleanly, back out.

I've crashed before trying to avoid people. I'd much rather ruin just my race than someone else's as well!

It's not a witch hunt, it's not just luke but I got annoyed on the ring the other night, everyone should aim for a clean / fun but loose race rather than a fast win where you take people with you.

+2 But accidents do happen, most are avoidable though but when the car in front is covering your usual line it is difficult to see where to go and where to brake, hanging back is the only way to stop this.

Yup or if you are passing just let them know, so there aware of where you are and can avoid a collision, well that's what I do most times when it's a close pass.

No harm saying on your left/right + gamertag.

yep, just to add there's a reason that you only see passing in one or two places at most race circuits smile

Does everyone use the cockpit view or do you get mirrors on other views as well?

I use the cockpit view and have to use the analog stick to check what's around me.

Part of the fun is forcing a mistake from the guy in front letting you get a clean run through a corner, tail gating or 'drafting' is the best way to do that.
