Are there any games along these lines available for the PS3, Xbox 360 or wii?
Not that I can think of. You could consider an RPG like fallout 3 but it won't have the charm of this game. Nor is it that similar! It is so good because it is away from the big design houses and focuses on what the players want rather than what the designer does. Is there any reason you cannot put it on your PC?

I dont think it could be well replicated on a console.

Episode 19 & 20 of my Playthrough will be quite awesome. Will be uploaded tonight ready for tomorrow morning!

Sorry I meant what screen capture software for the YouTube vids?? I've been trying a few out and I can't seem to get a decent fps rate.

Cheers jord
Jake and I are using FRAPS it should cost you money though. Which of course both me and Jake paid for.
Absolutely!

Rendering a video on Red Stone in detail. Will be online in the morning!

I'm just playing at the moment, looks really good, died on the first night frown but got my inventory back frown

Quickly stting myself and trying to figure out how to make torches before the next night comes, I need to mine diamond to get the right pickaxe to get coal?!
[COAL] = 4 torches
[STICK]
You just need a wooden Pickaxe for Coal & Steel (a stone one is quicker). You only need Diamond to mine Obsidian. You need a Steel Pick to mine Gold, Diamond & Redstone.

You have the worst sense of direction on earth, I nearly punched my laptop screen!

I am like a human compass though.
hehe I do! I have had a few people get angry with me! When driving I can get almost anywhere without a Satnav! Game maps.... no chance!

As the main forum is still down, can I ask for some help.

I'm trying to grow crops, I set out an area of land and cross filled with several trenches (2 blocks down) filled with water to hydrate the soil. Used a hoe and the soil
does not give any seeds or change to a tilled soil. ?.

All I can grow at present are cacti.
If you just find a normal patch of grass (not hydrated) and till that you will get seed every few patches. The grass does not need to be hydrated to get seed from it. It does for you to grow. So go find a field and till it all completly with a hoe then little green seeds will pop out.

Oops I changed my username as I am bored stiff in work and I only have 2 days left. It is still me though hehe

Right I have built a tower, bench and furnace. Mined out loads of dirt/stone and some red ore type stuff, as well as a bit of coal and iron ore.

What is the next step in the game? I can't find any iron ore, I'd really like to build a cart/railway system - can these be automated?

I've seen on the forums some people have built traps/cobblestone machines etc, how the hell do you do it?

Oh, and is it possible to pickup water with a bowl?
Iron ore: There is some you just must look harder. Dig deeper but not too deep, You want to be about 60-75% down to be where you will find most Iron.

You can have powered minecarts which will push other carts automatically so yes.

Red Stone Dust is how you make traps and things. You are only really limited by your creativity. Red stone is similar to coal but the black bits are red and a few dust clusters fall out of each stone. My Red Stone Door switches ( here)

I have only every carried water in a steel bucket.

I've downloaded this, are required machine specs listed anywhere?

I manage a few minutes of play and then the screen just goes black (and no, it's not because it's night time)? I can shut down and restart fine, a few minutes later and same again.

(I have a fairly old 2.6Ghz P4, 1.5Gb ram and 1Gb X1600 Radeon graphics card.)
In the options change the render distance from Far to either Normal or Short. It should sort it out for you.

Jake, my OH said you'd be a perfect storybook reader hehe
hehe I don't have any more time to be reading story books (or making videos) to be honest. I am working 12 hour days now and the last thing I really want to do is game! or play minecraft. So I have perhaps come to the end of what I can do! It's a bit gutting but I just have to focus on work and stuff for the next few months!

YOU.ARE.fkING.JOKING
This cannot happen
I think so, his Youtube account is closed frown
Afraid so guys frown I have not disappeared I am working 12 hour days now and I just don't have the time. I am up at 6 and don't get back until 6.30/8.30 and then I have to revise and do a whole host of other things. I closed the account as I was getting 10-15 messages a day of people being arsey about why I wasn't doing any more videos and became a bit fed up of it.

I still love Minecraft by they way and I have linked the awesome valley to my home with a sky bridge which has a railtrack on it. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from one to the other.
