Hi folks,

Are there any variations in types of air filter which fits the TVR S3 ?

Thanks

Neil

this is the only one that fits properly (afaik), I have seen a car with two conical filters adapted to fit , looked untidy and I doubt any beneficial gains ?

After a little bit of hunting around for a good price I managed to purchase the air filter for my S3 ( Pipercross C3004 ) for £26.00 from Mill Autoquip in Taunton. If From ebay / Pipercross direct price would be £38.39 + £5.95 postage.

Maybe handy for other people to know.

Neil,

Just phoned them and unfortunately it's £26.00 before vat and £7 postage so in total it will be £40.74 not quite the bargain I was hoping for. But still slightly cheaper than ebay

Just ordered one from Racetech - £37.92 all in - a little cheaper. Mine was rather more manky than I thought frown

Just received my filter from Racetech. It is the C3004. Interesting as according to Pipercross this is only rated to 150bhp. Not that it'll make much difference to me!

Bit of an embarassing update but may help someone so...

Ever since I've had the S3C it's had a hesitation at about 2k rpm. Changed the plugs and distributor cap, throttle pot, cleaned ISCV etc. Still the hesitation. Nothing serious but can be quite irritating.

You know what's coming next.

Having changed the air filter it now pulls much more cleanly and the hesitation is gone or at least much reduced. Happy Gary!

Feel like a p^%$t for not having checked just how bad the filter was (see pic in post above). My only excuse is I've not had as much time for fettling as I'd have liked. Benefit of having taken redundancy recently is I've had a bit more time - at least until the money runs out wink

Cheers,
Gary
