From memory length is 110cm (I measured it very roughly with some string) fittings are 3/8 top end (male fitting)you need a 90deg or near as damn it fitting to go round the corner, pipe diameter was 8mm white PTFE sleeved in stainless braid to reflect heat from manifolds but once made you can tyrap it away from them, bottom end fitting is 7/16 female to match your new nipple (straight fitting once you curve the flexi round to meet the slave)
As I say I used Pirtek, those guys know there stuff and if you explain what you need they will make it up for you safely.
The thread for how I did mine is on here but I can't find it. But I will keep looking.
Anyway hope this helps

Hello,
I had EXACTLY the same problem about 6 weeks ago.
Called Powertrack, gave them the Girling part number from my redundant slave cylinder (74660035).....asked them for a price.....from memory £50 including delivery and VAT.
It arrived, I fitted it with existing copper pipe and everythng was done relatively easily.
Unfortunately turned out to be a seized clutch rather than slave cylinder - but that's another story !!
In my opinion - use Powertrack, existing copper pipe and get back out there by the weekend ;-)

DJ, is that fitting for the Land Rover slave? I have to say guys, having owned a TVR for less than a week I am hugely impressed with the level of support and knowledge in this forum

Damon Damon, think I found your thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a...DJ8226 said: Slave end 7/16 UNF (to fit land rover slave NOT original TVR) Original I believe is 3/8 UNF. Master cylinder end is 3/8 UNF. Make up of cable is 900mm braided cable and end fittings each add around 50mm each so total is 1000mm (1metre)and it fits (tyraps) to the chassis leg and curves round to the slave end perfectly, with no sharp bends. Is the master cylinder end to fit the original TVR S master or a Land Rover replacement?

You seem to be making this far harder than it all really is. Just give Paul a ring at Power Track, he knows all about the S series and us on pistonheads, you don't even need to know the part numbers. I bought from him a few weeks ago, both the slave and master, both fitted as original units I took off. Yes, they are more expensive, but they fit without any modifications or trouble. If you want to get out and enjoy the car, get the units, get help on here to fit, I've just done it so its fresh in my brain, and happy days! The other essential thing I bought was a 1/2inch flare spanner, you really dont want to round the end off the hydraulic pipe fitting as it can be very tight as mine was. P.s. if you order through power track, get Paul to throw in a few sachets of rubber grease for free! It will help future corrosion in the slave especially. Â

Paul was very helpful - I have ordered the part and I am going to see if can get it booked in at my local garage. I really don't fancy getting properly underneath the car while it's on axle stands.

Yup, Paul is a really helpfull guy, best of all, he knows what fits properly! I know what you mean about getting under the car. There isn't a lot of room to move under there, but just enough. Although the thought of the car dropping on me went through my head everytime I went under there! Good luck getting the car back on the road, although in true S series owners, I still think you should have a go and fit it yourself!

Why should a car properly supported on axle stands (and there are ample good locations under an S) suddenly decide to fall off

Personally my biggest problem is crawling under and then finding I’ve forgotten what it was I was going to do. Rob

I was presuming (I know, never presume) solid, level ground and decent quality equipment!
"sunday market" axle stands on a sloppping gravel drive maybe not.

Rob I know exactly what you mean Rob. I have similar lapses halfway up the stairs. Then having completely fogotten what it was, I then can't remember if I was going up or down. So I go downstairs and find I've soiled myself. ( I hope this doesn't really happen but its getting that way. ) Now, what was I doing?:b

I'll have you know that cement dust is ideal for absorbing oil/ brake/ clutch fluid etc that may be spilled on the track. Satnav said take next right turn, I just followed the cement lorry! Then the barrier came down! DOH!!!

I have a couple of sets of axle stands - one is a Clarke Strongarm ratchet set which seem ok, the other is a very chunky pair from my father in law. It's more me that I don't trust! I have a set of ramps that I am much happier using but never enjoy driving cars up them! Local garage seem unwilling to do it and recommended a specialist, but none of my localish specialists can fit me in for a couple of weeks, so they said they will have a look at it tomorrow afternoon and see what they think. I think when I said "TVR" they are expecting me to turn up in a Sagaris Do feel a bit pathetic not doing it myself, would give it a go if my brother came down to help as he works on all his bikes and is much more practical than me!
