'91 Turbo Elan

I presently own a '91 SE, and I have been considering the Lotus Elan, and I have a few basic questions. What is the horse power potential of the 1.6L engine in this car? Are there HP chips or other after market HP items available? What does the car weigh? Is there a good web-based source of info on this car?
