Not strictly Yorkshire as I was staying in the Lakes but the Vulcan came right over the top of the house we rented for the week a fortnight ago. Incredible sight.
It's a wonderful sight, but a little irritating sometimes when people flood to see it and park in ridiculous places.Shnozz said:

If you want to keep it flying next year, donate a small amount to "Vulcan To The Sky"http://www.vulcantothesky.org/donate.html
They need another £137,000 this week to be able to fund next season, they have currently raised £263,000.

I'm no aviation expert so we were all surprised to be sat on the lawn in front of the house enjoying a few wines when we looked up to see that flying low overhead. It was quiet compared to the usual jets darting through the valleys.
It's certainly a lot louder than the usual passenger aircraft that take off from Finningley. Makes a welcome change, too.Feirny said:

You should try adjusting the max rpm when the engine is running! Your head is pressed against the engine as you reach up to turn the adjuster. No wonder my hearing is so bad.

This is my video, I actually live at the opposite end of the runway so hear it every time it takes off and lands. This video gives an idea of the noise.

What looked like a very shabby Porsche 914 at Lawnswood roundabout on my way home this afternoon

It came in over work yesterday afternoon on its return, and there was a fair few people looking upwards. Just a shame I wasn't in the car park, as I'd have got the photo I've wanted to get for a few years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPh18yxngvI&li...

An old White Carrera 911 on East Parade at about 18:30. Reg started with '919'
Then a 458 on The Calls at about 19:00. Reg something like 'sec'?
But best of all a Red 205 CTI on 1.9 wheels on the 621 yesterday at 18:00.
Think I saw the 205 the other day. Then a 458 on The Calls at about 19:00. Reg something like 'sec'?

What area do you work? I'm guessing Thorne way if it came in to land.Gassing Station | Yorkshire | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
