Ditto here wink

Great day out, great to meet up. Lovely varied selection of motors, all being driven like they should be. I'll stick a couple of pics up later.

So, who won?

Yup good day out that, nice route recognised a lot of it and nice to see some of it daylight. Wasn't expecting to be looking for clues either, made it a bit more fun. Might have been better if they hadn't cocked up the last ones though, the clue numbers on the Navigation instructions were different to the tulip versions and we had one less of them too so they stopped making sense after clue 32.

Barry kept us on the right track pretty much everywhere with just one small overshoot plus a diversion for Petrol at Ingleton and slight variation after Barnoldswick!.

The Test was nice and slippy, I prefer it that way, I can never turn mine without three pointing it in the gap behind the Barn at that place, with all the st down today it just rotated perfectly on the diff!. Bit confusing with having the Cones in the wrong place on the diagram though.

Fish and Chips were nice and I was happy to sit with the old gimmers up at the Creamery and eat Cake at lunch time too. smile

Looks like I might need to bang the sump guard straight again as usual got a bit exuberant at times! rolleyes

Knowldale Mini Miglia, March 2014 by giveitfish, on Flickr

A couple more pics here.

Made it back home with about 10Kg of mud stuck to the car and a crack on the front number plate, no more damage than that for me.

We made a complete botch of the test. I hope I do better tomorrow at the Bolton Autosolo.

Some of those roads were amazing. Having things like the fords, the stupidly narrow bridge and that bizarre road right up the central reservation of the M6 made it interesting.

Found the last sections turned into a bit of a procession but I guess that's inevitable as you get nearer civilisation?

Only regret is we didn't get to mix with more of the other cars during the run.

FAOD the 'old gimmers in the Creamery' I mentioned were of course the tourists in their 23mph Honda Jazzs rather than my esteemed fellow competitors smile

Most rally people I know look like old gimmers, until you put them in a car, then they turn into teenagers.smile

I think I win for the splashing through the Ford effect.

Middle photo, fourth row down.

Looks like the Mini at the end had a close shave, must admit I nearly hit that bank too.! eek

Looks like a few people were pretty close to falling off the edge of the ford, I'm sure the photographer was sat pretty much where the Mini ended up when I came through? eek Love the wall of water being jetted into the air by my number plate!

I was knackered today but still had a good day at the Autosolo. Put in some good times but one too many mistakes to get anywhere. I think I've spent over 12 hours in the Elise this weekend, thank god the seats fit me.

I've just put it away after cleaning half a farm yard off it.

I cleaned up the Porsche this afternoon, not too bad really. Lots of vegetation stuck under the engine and sump guards though.

Off to Croft & Catterick next week for some hooning with passengers at the Phoenix House Recovery Centre, can't wait for that.

Then Jonquilles of course in early April.

Alors, I love it when the season starts up again.

Oh, to add, the two chaps in the red Midget really (really) knew how to drive that little thing, I had a great run with them down from Tan Hill. Amazing pace with so little power and such, erm, rudimentary suspension smile

I'd like to have seen that. One thing I meant to ask - how on earth did we get to the vicinity of the first ford before you??

By the time you saw us go past you in the wrong direction we'd already missed the junction, stopped for a piss, gone back, headed towards the ford then turned around because we thought we gone wrong again - then we saw you. But you were ahead of us by several minutes leaving the test?

As we left the test a couple of old gimmers were blocking the road in a 4x4 and ushering us up a little lane. We assumed they were marshalls but they weren't.

Took us about half an hour to work round with a couple of other cars (the TR7 and something else.)

Wasn't impressed.

Flipping 'eck, as we say up north. Why didn't I see this before?! frown Looks right up my street (well, not literally... but it is close enough for me to have attended). Do you know if they have plans for anything else this year, moribund?

I don't know but I'd imagine so. It's only the second year they've run it but there was a good turn out so hopefully they've broken even.

I think MikeT66 was thinking of events 'this' year, I don't expect Knowldale CC will run it again this year.
There are plenty of 'competitive' events this year, not so many of the nature of the Mini Miglia though, which was for the most part a non competitive 'Touring Assembly'.

Oops sorry didn't read the post properly.
I'm not aware of any other similar events this year, but will keep my eye out.
