I commute from Radwon to go either left at horsforth, or straight over. I would say it's worse than even during the roadworks now. Anytime between 7.30am and 10am is shocking, and even during the daytime it can be pretty bad. Coming back from Leeds to rawdon, it's quicker to cut through off new roadside, up to the toby carvery, then turn right at the roundabout because so few cars get let through going straight over.

In Summary - it's st!

Thread bump!

WTF are they doing at Horsforth rbt this time? mad They've got lane 1 coned off at the top from Rodley with 'lane 1 closed' signs all the way from the tip so guess what happens? No-one uses lane 1 up the hill and they all sit in lane 2 like a lemming train ( bowtie ) and the queue extends beyond Rodley rbt completely snarling it up for anyone that wants to cross from Calverley or Rodley. rolleyes

I sailed past them all in the empty lane 1 at jogging pace earlier today and holy fk I thought some of them were going to burst from being apoplectic with rage over me "queue jumping". rolleyes

They're artificially creating queues to see how the road will cope when the new LBA link road is built haha.

Wait.. I've just downloaded the map. So let me get this straight : they are going to put a new rbt in on the A65 outside Rawdon crematorium and then build a new road over up the hill, over Brownberrie Lane, over the golf courses along Bayton Lane and then either cut across Plane Trees Hill and come out at Multiflight with a new rbt on Harrogate Rd before the tunnel, or cut across Brownberrie Lane, over all the farms and basically replace Scotland Lane with a new road and put in some new rbts at the airport long stay car parks. laugh

I'll bet my house that neither of those will ever happen and nor will their proposed new train station just before the entrance to Bramhope tunnel. laugh

What will probably happen is their option C which is putting in a rbt at Rawdon lights, another rbt at the top of Green Lane and another one at Yeadon lights, none of which will change anything as they are guaranteed to be badly designed and it doesn't fix the underlying issue that the roads are simply not big enough to handle the traffic capacity. rolleyes

Yep, it's crazy.

There's talk of buying up properties etc. to make way for new roads.

There's been all manner of consultations going on in recent weeks, but time will tell as to what they decide.

I see the money spent on yet another set of traffic lights at the top of Hollins hill has paid off, not! Crash there the other night which when I first saw the design I knew was just waiting to happen and traffic now queues up Hollins hill and down towards Marks and Spencer at rush hour, they really need to stop spending our money on this stuff.
