It was my first time but I'm inclined to agree. Traveled in convoy to Malton with a ferrari, Aston, Maserati, load of Porsches so expected similar cars on arrival.

Turned out they were probably the nicest bunch there...

Was hoping to see some supercars and maybe even Hypercars, never mind maybe next time.

Just a bit of feedback,

I went today after having not been for a few years. It was a decent day, but the standard of car seems to have dropped somewhat. Last time I went the main road along past the garage was lined with lambo's, tvr's, and ferraris. This year there was far far less, and there were more evo's, imprezza, slammed honda's etc. Also some guy with the loadest stero in the world in his astra setting off everyones car alarms. It feels a little like it's becoming a halfords car park cruze.

For me I don't feel it would be worth the trip again - I know it's all for charity and that's a great thing, and I also don't know what you can do to try and attract more of the exoctic metal and less of the not so nice stuff.

I'm not having a dig here, what you're doing to raise money is a great thing, I just want to try and give a bit of feedback about my experience.
Fully agree with the astra. As for the cars, everyone's different so I quite like the eclectic mix even if quite a bit isn't to my taste. All can be forgiven (apart from being internally shaken to death by bass) when you can just peruse round the garage, drool over the RS200 in the garage, see SV Lambos etc. Part of what I like is digging out the nice cars; there was a really nice old XR2 tucked down the other end, the blue sagaris, the yellow S1 exige etc...

Exactly my thoughts too after a few years away. The Astra with the sound system was beautifully prepared but was at the wrong event.

Still a very interesting selection of cars there, many a real credit to their owners. I'd just prefer there to be more sports cars in the mix.

And this is why I no longer go, I decided that the meet at the beginning of the year was going to be the last, it's just got worse and worse over the years, until now when I feel like a lot of the people who are going are the sort that I don't want to leave my car unattended with.

Maybe we should start fresh somewhere new?

I have to admit, that after taking part in the early morning hoon, I didn't go to Malton. Aside from a bacon butty and a good cause, what actually is there?

So whilst the rest of the pack headed to Malton, I turned and headed home.

... where as I quite enjoyed it. Some nice rare cars tucked away around the estate .. and to be honest a lot are more interesting to look at than some fresh out of the showroom supercar.

We are lucky we have this breakfast meet .. its not as if its every month. Twice a year to have a nice drive across the tops , meet up with other enthusiasts and have a bacon buttie .. whats not to like ?

the only thing, I got there early enough to park on the estate, if Id been asked to park in the field I would have carried on home

What annoyed me was the alternative butty wagon, using the charity event to line their own pockets.
Lets hope they were taxed and a healthy donation made to the air ambulance?

I think people are forgetting that first and foremost this is a charity event to raise money for Yorkshire air ambulance. Personally I think the biggest disgrace and let down was the burger van parked just up from the showroom who were there purely for profit and aren't even making a donation to charity. I can't believe the sheer cheek of it, I hope they don't ever require the services of the air ambulance... rage Really picensoreded me off.

Of course it's always nice to see some rare machines, but I don't really mind who goes as I like the run out there & back, I like the company, I like bacon sarnies & I like cars! But the more people give negative comments on here the less likely the more exotic stuff is going to show up.

Apologies to anyone who's eyes were offended by the site of my filthy Tuscan with knackered paint & a front service bonnet missing (broke & flew off about 4 weeks ago cry), I did try to park it out of the way but turns out but turns out it was still in the middle of everything!! Getting a re spray soon so should be OK for next time.

Also would like to give my thanks once again to the organisers, I for one enjoyed the morning! I have been the first one to arrive at both events this year & will be there first at the next one as well! See you in spring lick

Ahh, so that was yours, I had a couple of freinds who went across and showed me a pic of your car asking what you had done to it with them not knowing about the dual bonnets that the TVRs have, after saying about the 2 bonnets they have, my joking reply actually was 'it's a TVR it probably fell off', didn't actually think that is what would have happened biggrin

It sure did, one of the front pivot/mounting points failed and air got under it & ripped it clean off over the top of the car before slamming into the road. Luckily it was a back road and nobody else was around at the time. In hindsight I should have just parked it out front anyway but at least cleaned it, because at the end of the day I'm lucky enough to own such a machine & I still drive it every single day, whether it looks like an ugly duckling or not!

Turned out alright in the end really as I bought the car for £5k & have been slowly sorting it out over the last 2 years as things broke (whilst being used as my ONLY daily drive), & I am finally at a stage where everything works as it should! Touch wood...

The last and biggest job to sort was the paintwork & now my insurance are paying for the repair to the front, so ordering a new bonnet today & hopefully the whole car is going in for paint in the next couple of weeks...

I looked at that and wondered what was going on. Me and a friend wondered if it was some sort of track car for cooling or something, but then the rest of the car looked too good for a track slag

The chav brigade do lower the tone but how do you say they can't come and can't park on a public road?

They are car fans like the rest of us and they are probably giving to charity but it's a shame they don't understand that a blaring bass speaker in an astra sets the wrong tone.

Serious respect for that bow

Running a Tuscan as a daily takes some serious commitment, glad it all seems to be going well for you smile

Arf, I did enjoy the TVR's, AMG's, Caterhams and Porsches on route too and from. Although I'd have taken Herds of wildebeest over all of that.

Still think this should take on the same format as the Sunday Service.

Name on the list weeks in advance and that grants you entry.

I missed this one but sounds like I didn't miss much.

Hello @1.28 - sadly it's gone now though (press car) frown

Great little montage. Loved the little rig you had set up too
