To be fair, the paint on my own GT6 is real "10-foot" stuff, so if Banksy wants to come along and paint it for me he / she'd be most welcome. Can't promise I'll seal it away forever, mind.

It would be nice – and far from impossible – restore it to original condition. GT6s deserve that.

(for clarity I mean the Banksy one, not TB's)

Who remembers those “full respray for £100” guys? Compared to that the Banksy GT6 paint job is worth £30.

There used to be one on Blackheath Hill in the late 70s. The standard was atrocious. Virtually no preparation, we used to laugh at the ones where they sprayed over bird st and rust.
£99 was just for the repaint, costs rose substantially If you wanted any bodywork done.

Forty years ago or more I saw a bloke come out of a motor spares place with a rattle can and spray the white contents within onto the sills of his rusty Saab 96 …

I did that to my Imp immediately after the MOT tester put his screwdriver through the sill. Took it to another test station and it passed with flying colours. Cherry red rattle can, gauze and isopon. I did eventually get a new set of sills welded on when funds allowed.

Swiss coachbuilder Graber did one IIRC.

Same car here - it's a 4 door. Most of the other shed builds that come up in a search have been converted to 2 door

Homebrew hacksaw job.

Graber understandably did a more refined job.

Can't be many FA Victors left.

That black one looks very tidy.

July 1961 car and taxed until 1.9.24. No MOT though.

Thing is, it’s left outside in all weathers. That rear bumper has surface rust already and the paint’s lost its shine.

There’s an A30/35 shell behind the builders’ bags.

Do you remember when the back corner of every pub car park looked like that?

I would say so, bonnet profile also looks correct.

On a trailer in a secure storage yard, so likely to be saved. Pretty rare animal, I’d have thought.
