Where are the French PH Massive?

Hi all, just moved to Monaco, although sadly have no wheels down here yet, parking is a nightmare, even though 'bout buying a scooter, that makes me feel queazy even saying it as don,t have 3/4 length trouser and certainly not one for mincing, there's a Griff near where I live which makes me smile most days, perhaps something British is required during my stay here!!

Any PHers on the Riviera fancy a ride/drive sometime? I've just moved to Nice and I've got my 911 down here and have just bought a Triumph Speed Triple.

My Italian pal has a bar , the Blockhead Café , where he serves the best bruschetta in France . He's in the village of Les Essards near St Porchaire . I'm between Saintes and Saujon , if you'd like to talk about the area .

I'm another long-time Pistonheader with a low post count living in France - Dept 31, Haute Garonne between Lannemezan and St Gaudens. I look out onto the Pyrénées which have just had their first major snow dump of the year and Spain is about an hour away - nice.
Some good advice in the thread about making and effort with the locals - they appreciate it if you try. I've been retired out here for 7 years and still love it (mostly) - nowhere is perfect but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Good as it is, I still miss some things in the UK and expect that we'll eventually end up back in Blighty.

It's just that I always fancy a change after a few years - like a 10 year itch. When we moved here it was never intended to be forever and I view this French experience as something that we wanted to do, glad we are doing it but reckon that when we move on it'll be back to the UK. We've got grown up kids in the UK and Australia and think the next move will be to something smaller that we can lock up for a while so we can spend a bit more time down under. Got a bit of land here and it takes some looking after.
Oh, and I still miss a good British pub

I regard myself as a wine drinker, but sometimes in summer you really need a pint of real ale, lagers just do not work for me. So one of the first things that I really enjoy when I return to the UK is my first pint.

That said, I am already looking forward to returning to France for Christmas - food in England is way down on French quality.

And they think WE'RE weird for eating potato skins.

I study in Newcastle but grew up in the South of France (between Nice and Monaco) and still return there for the holidays.

I'm down in Albi, next to Toulouse area.

My parents moved to Rochefort (17) in 1994, and now have a large farmhouse kind of thing between Saintes and St Jean d'Angély.
I'm working as sales manager, selling performance bits and bob for Honda/Mitsu/Lotus K20s, and building track cars or stupidly overpowered road cars. As someone said earlier, here you work for peanuts, but unfortunately, life isn't as cheap as it was, so not as simple as before survival wise. My parents are now selling up to move back to the UK... They even find it cheaper to to do mass shopping in the UK (Heinz baked bean....god I'd kill for'em), than to do normal food shopping in France. Yes, including the petrol to drive all the way...

Except for all of that, France is great, love the roads, the tunnels, a part of the population (down south they can be a bit...well...unsociable...), food is great (as iiyama said, the difference taste wise between French and English tomatoes is amazing), sunday morning markets, loads of stuff !
