Any fellow petrol heads in the Charente? If so, be good to try and arrange some meets/drives/social activities car related as it all seems a bit dead on that front. Shame seeing as we've got great roads, no crowds and it's the home of the circuit de remparts!

Hello Rus. Do you do track days etc? Try Le Vigeant circuit. I live in 16500.

I've done val de Viennese and haut saintonge .Where is the one you are talking about? Would certainly be interested in going! Do you use your own car?

Hang on, le vigeant IS Vall de Vienne! Yes I have done one track day there with my bike but it ended in tears after I chucked it into the gravel trap and scratched the paintwork all to hell! Not familiar with the score with cars but would be glad of some info.

Here are a couple of links that may interest you. http://www.trackdays.fr/agenda.php
http://www.nenetteracingclub.fr/

I have done a couple of days at the Vieene circuit and i just turned up on a Journey touristic.
About 13 euros for 15 minute slots. Some idiots trying to drift in front of you sometimes but not to bad.

I also drive at Spa for a weekend each year.

Spa would be epic, I fancy some of that. Have you tried Haute Saintonge? It's a really nice open fast circuit with great curves and straights. I found Valle de Vienne a bit tight in places for my liking. I find Haute Saintonge more flowing, certainly on the Ducati. Car wise I drive a DB 9 and although it's probably not the best track car, I would love to give it a run round. Fancy it?

Yes that would be great when i have finished the upgrades on my coupe. Its just about to get a new clutch,so it can handle more power.
Let me know if you are going to le Vigeant at any time.

Certainly will.likewise drop me a line when you are going and I'll try and hook up with you. What do you drive if you don't mind me asking? Coupe upgrades, more power! All sound tremendous!

You would find Le Mans Bugatti more to your liking in a DB9. These days are usually better organised than some.
http://store.slicketstock.com/fr/25-le-mans-bugatt... I am doing July with them.

I did VdeV on Sunday, it is actually an FFSA test day and so it can be a bit intimidating in a road car.

http://www.accespiste.fr are also doing Lederman in August which may also be of interest to you.

A few coupes from FCCUK are attending an open pit lane day at the Bugatti circuit on the 1st and 2nd of August. http://www.trackdays.co.uk/track_days/le_man.htm It may be fully booked now though.

I will be going, to cadge some rides hopefully.

I live just south of Saumur and so am very handy for Le Mans and Val de Vienne; and if I can persuade Haute Saintonge that my car is not too noisy, I shall be returning there again before October.

By the end of August, I should be living around 40 minutes south of Angouleme with my Cobra rep. I will also be looking for some petrol fun although track days are not really for me. The car has been setup for road use and, as such, would be a bit of a handful on a track.

Anyone know of any car based events, apart from Circuit de Remparts (or whatever it is correctly called) ?

Cheers

Paul

Delta racing http://www.delta-racing.co.uk/ are also advertising a track day on Bugatti on the same date and have about 90 participants signed up. I suspect that the two trackdays are linked judging by the preponderance of black an red on their websites smile but I'm trying to ascertain the overall number of cars involved. The Delta racing list doesn't include any Fiats, but does include a couple of McLarens and other exotic stuff from Jersey.
I'm very keen to do Bugatti and would much prefer the day there on 16th August with Bruno and Sophie Carron http://speedmonster.forumactif.fr/t67-circuit-buga... max 85 cars, £170, very friendly crowd, but other commitments preclude it.

All sounds great, but would be nice to get something on the doorstep for us Charentaise refugees. We have Valle de Vienne and Haute Saintonge on the doorstep, there must be something going on?
