S1's for early retiree's stopped in July last year and pensioners will be getting proof of life demands on a bi-annual basis from now on.

If you have an S1 you do not pay social charges.

I have an S1 and note it on my tax return, but I pay social charges , about 2K pa, and cotisations sur enterprise. Perhaps because I run a gite business?
