Funnily enough the Saab battery is nothing to do with me, previous owner fitted it!
Thanks for the info on the car, sounds interesting. Not too many of the white ones made IIRC. Might be worth keeping an eye out for a leather interior - although I always liked the velour. I am sure there was somebody on UKSaabs who had a source for the Carlsson decals. Does it have the red APC under the bonnet?

It does have the red APC. There are also two mystery buttons in the cabin which have been added. So far I haven't managed to figure out what they do, I need to get my multimeter out.
As for leather vs. velour, I'm actually quite taken by the velour, I'd probably consider some leather if it came up for a good price near me though.
Thanks for the tip on the decals, I might try and track them down, it'd be good to have a set even if I don't get round to having it painted for a few years.

Having owned Saabs since 2000, I'm now switching to the other Swedish manufacturer. Current 9-3 has been written off (uneconomical to repair), partly down to the fact that Saab pattern parts manufacturers are now charging the same as Saab did for parts for which genuine ones are no longer available.
Recipe for write off, Park car by the side of the road, behind a camper van, camper van gets hit (at speed), depositing said campervan on Saab!!

What do the 2 switches say on them? Are they the standard square ones?As for leather vs. velour, I'm actually quite taken by the velour, I'd probably consider some leather if it came up for a good price near me though.

Yep. 120k Linear Sport 1.9TiD150 auto, on a really good day worth 3K. Repair estimate 2.3K, needed new rear bumper, trim, parking sensors, two rear light clusters, new boot lid (twisted and a sharp crease), boot hinges and impact bar (goes between bumper and floor pan), plus labour and paint. Got offered near 3K from insurance company, took it.
Thanks for the nice comments guys!.... At the moment she still needs a bit of optimisation in terms of mapping... even so, she still makes 315bhp/360lbft torque..all that torque comes in at 1500rpm! and holds til around 5500. power delivery is incredibly smooth and linear, you just don't realise what kind of speeds you're doing until you look down at the speedo, on the motorway this thing is mental... was actually thinking of selling soon though...
