There is documentation in app, press more, should be bottom right on the screen, then Press Help. There is also documentation on the Harrys Forum, plus access to Harry for support, just ask and Harry will normally answer by the end of day. Harrys support is the best I have come accross. h

OP I'm a little late to this thread but these guys can do mounts for everything and anything...quality is superb, none of the amazon/ebay rubbish. http://www.ram-mount.co.uk/I have no affiliation with the company, but have been using their products for years.

Couple of quick questions about Harry's Lap Timer.
Quite a few laps don't seem to have recorded. Bit annoying, as it would be good to compare the slow laps with the faster laps to try and see where the time went. Just read that for V15, that should be sorted and it will be continuous filming with lap times. To be honest, I thought that was how it worked anyway, but nevermind. Still really useful.
With the videos I do have, do I have to overlay them all individually? Once I have the new overlapped one, I guess it's OK to delete the old orginal one saved in the Camera Roll? Probably won't have enough space to overlay them all.
Bit of a shame they didn't all record in a row, only have about 3 consecutive laps that all filmed.

V15 will video all laps, not alternate laps, as seperate laps. You can then overlay laps if wanted, picking either a lead in to the start of, and or, end of lap. Everything below refers to v15 beta, so there may be changes in the released version. You will need to think about memory though, Harry has a sticky here: http://www.gps-laptimer-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=6...Harrys suggestion is to data log the morning whilst you learn the track and get itno the swing of it, then video the afternoon laps. Before i go to the track I make sure that I have freed up as much memory as I can. You can also reduce the resolution of the recorded video, 192x144 low 3g, 480x360 medium, wifi, 640 x 480, vga, 1280 x 720, 720p HD, best available , High. (descriptions are Harrys, adjustment in settings, expert settings, video tweaks) H

I kinda wish I got a 64GB Iphone now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHzFw8G4ORE&fea...Quick video from Friday. It's so useful having something to look back at. For instance, I now know that after coming out of The Esses, it's best to change up to 4th before Old Paddock, rather than after.

I'm not familiar with Castle Combe, but am interested to understand how the app helped you identify the 'error' in your driving.

Use your sector/intermediate times. It does mean that you have to remember how you drove the lap, but improvements will show as shorter lap or intermediate times. iirc if you have racer view running then you will have a 'ghost' car of your best lap shown, if you are ahead of or behind, will give you an indication if you are faster/slower than your best lap. I prefer not to use that as I do not want any distractions whilst driving, plus the marshalls may think you are timing as it also shows time, so if on a track day you may be asked to leave the circuit! h

I notice from looking at the slower laps that I tried to drag 3rd out 'til just after the bend. Changing up earlier seem to be better. I could just be coincidence, but it felt better as well. I know what you mean, HMS. I just leave it in video mode and carry on. I barely even look at the dash when driving. The Google Images map you get is really interesting as well!

You know you can knock out of the map the blue and green rings to leave just the line? H

Im not at a pc at the moment, so having to rely on my poor memory! When you have the overlay in google earth, on the left you will find a list of laps with check boxes. Uncheck all but the one lap you want to view, then click the check box to reveal a breakdown of whats on display and a check box to show/unshow that item. Hopefully that should give you a start. If you have no joy, post again and I'll respond when I' m back in the office witha pc. Iirc, blue circles are accuracy, green is the g, track is a grey line that connects the plot points. There is also a thread here I started about the xgps150 external Gps which runs at 5 hz http://www.gps-laptimer-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=1...H

Are there any UK outlets for the xgps150? Some steep P&P charges for what must be quite a small and light object.

Just been looking at 'harry's lap timer' looks great doesn't it So can I record laptimes with the phone in the car (but not visible) and review the times later on? At the moment we have another camera setup to do the video, so being able to overlay onto that would be superb. Anyone tried and had success with adding the info onto a seperate video? If not another camera mount for the phone may be the way forward and just video with that too..
