Evening all,

Now, I'm selling my brothers Gen 3 1988 Camaro for him as he is tied up with work, it's in for an MOT on Thursday, but I know it will need a rear box and centre section (it doesn't have a rear box and might as well change the centre section). Can anyone recommend a place to get it from in the UK as I have zero experience with American cars, I just know about this one!

Many thanks.

Oh, it's a 5.0 V8 1988 incase anyone has the bits laying about!

Just get a stainless one made up. The import costs and shipping drive up yank exhausts to silly levels.

^^^ This - quite a few places out there'll make you an exhaust for a reasonable sum. Alternatively just give it a straight through system smile

I think the straight through system is going to be a way forward on this one... Plus it'll sound better too.

It depends where the cats are. the 3rd gen has a pipe routed along the sill and over the axle. Long runs of pipe cause drone so it can be counter-productive. I would have a min-bullet before the rear axle and two small after the axle.

There are no cats on the car, it's pre cat 1988 and runs down the centre of the car. Currently ending by the rear diff.

Those aren't standard headers now are they!

As you can see in this pic, the '87 Z28 ran to one side:

It sticks with me because the location caused the inner sill to corrode behind the pipe. The LG4 also had the rubbish EGR valve set-up.
