Saxon were my band of the night, was pretty disappointed by Priest though. Sound was poor and I wasn't convinced by the vocals.
That’s exactly what I thought, said to my brother that I thought Priest would be better, might get more into it as the tour goes on but thought Halford just looked old…which I suppose he is…!!!Kuwahara said:
I think they said the band started in 1969…
Yeah, Uriah Heep started in 1969 and were quite a big band in the 70s along with Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Who and Deep Purple. Heep's lead vocalist Dave Byron had a bit of a meltdown and drank himself to death in 1985.Kuwahara said:

For Foreigner read Saxon, massively over delivered (although the omission of Ride Like the Wind was a shame as it's a favourite of Mine)
For Whitesnake read Judas Priest...now in Rob Halford's defence he can at least still sing, but the whole set seemed hugely disjointed, starting off with the sound being way out for the first track (but had been fine for previous two bands?) disappearing off stage every two minutes which I do understand with his terrible health problems over the last few years, lights up mid show (was that an intermission??)
Had my 16 year old rock obsessed son with me, who was much like me very perplexed by the whole thing. I get the guys are all getting on now (i've no hope of being that active in my mid 70's), but can't help but feel that era is really sadly coming to an end.

Caught Judas Priest/Saxon and Uriah Heep last night and thought that Saxon sounded brilliant…
I last saw Saxon in Aberdeen around 18 months ago and they were great - they still bring it night after night.Carpe Diem is a superb album too.

We saw Saxon and Priest at Bloodstock 2021 and had totally the same experience. We were really impressed by Saxon, but actually left early during Priest's headline set because Halford seemed to completely run out of puff after the first song and there was no atmosphere. For Europe read Uriah Heep, caught me a little by surprise how good they were live and really enjoyed them.

Later saw Uriah Heep at Rock City and it's one of the standout gigs I've ever been to. I'm very partial to rock organ.
Any fans of the French band Resolve on here? imo they are leading the way with "modern" metal alongside the likes of Landmvrks, Polaris and Tesseract

Discovered that they are playing at one of my favourite venues in October, Camden Electric ballroom, ticket duly bought.
If you like them, you should really try my recommendation above - Resolve :-)

Like that a lot. Very “old” Architects, his voice is spookily similar to Sam Carter at times
