Yep, that's what insurers do. If they discriminate based on protected characteristics (race, gender etc), then they're bang in trouble, but discriminating based on you having crashed a plethora of expensive cars previously in dubious circumstances isn't quit the tear jerker she seems to think it is.
Except curiously age is also a protected characteristic and they're allowed to discriminate based on that. It's all a bit random really.

Why on earth would insurers load up premiums for a driver responsible for this sort of chemically-enhanced shenanigans? It's just not fair...

She added: “Then I changed it to author and the insurance is £14k for a year but it’s still not the car I want... ”

That's pushing her luck a bit.
She's had a couple of dozen books published under her name, so on the face of it, it's a legitimate description.
Of course most of them were ghostwritten, so does that mean the real author is allowed to drive her car...?

That does raise a good point about people with multiple occupations though? For some it's not always obvious what the primary one is.

People would probably pay to throw fruit and veg at her! At, say a pound a pop, it would be worth it! Would have to be really rotten, squidgy, soft stuff though, so as not to leave any unsightly bruises, you know, for her onlyfans customers, so no tinned fruit evil

Proof if ever that banning someone from driving is pointless as they’ll just do it anyway.

To be honest she looks like someone’s thrown soft fruit at her anyway with that trout pout.

God she looks awful. Not that I’ve even been a fan but fake tits plastic surgery and make up looking like it was applied with a trowel…

She is asking how she is being charged so much for insurance…I am asking how she has got away with all her previous without jail time or a permanent ban.

It’s her glow-in-the-dark teeth that do my head in; they look ridiculous. However it just adds to the whole - she’s repellent in every way.

Hopefully the book will get thrown at her this time.

I doubt it. She was up before the mags again last year, but the thread on here was deleted by the mods.

Whilst on the face of it her claims are spurious and she is correctly being charged a lot of money for her insurance based on risk, it is interesting that she would be charged less as an author, presumably still disclosing the same driving and criminal history. Is an author who keeps breaking the law and crashing cars any less of a risk than a model who does the same? It's obviously not discrimination, but an interesting question none the less about where the primacy lies in determining the key risk factors.

Also, just for balance, as well as saying some silly things about discrimination, she did also appear to say this too:
'I am on the road so it is what it is. I shouldn't have done what I did, so you have to pay the price. So in a years' time I will get the car I want and until then I am grateful.'

She might have been advised to say that of course, but one can hope that she has at least that basic insight, and gratitude, as well as optimism that she will have a year free from further incident. We shall see!

Didn’t she get a 16 week suspended sentence for her last driving difficulty? If so, assuming she is the 45 year old woman caught driving without license and insurance, surely the previous sentence will be activated and she will get jail time.

Not really, insurance is exempt in law from age discrimination legislation. If it wasn't there would be no insurance industry, what with 80 y/olds being able to buy 25 years life insurance at the same price as a 20 y/o and a 17 y/o being able to insure a Lamborghini for the same price as a 55 y/o.
