So are Landlords finished?

I’ve got some tenants who are, shall we say, a bit unreliable - several times I’ve agreed they can pay the rent late. Annoying, but they’ve always paid, I get times are tight.
What do you think Blackrock would do?
Is this part of the service you provide we should be thankful for? What do you think Blackrock would do?

How late are we talking? Probably add a fee, and eventually kick em out? Perhaps its best asking if they'd pay BlackRock late? So, if I'm looking at renting, I should choose private landlords incase I pay late?
Next I'm probably going to hear how private landlords charge under the going rate because they are nice like that.

I don't quite get how some views on this thread seems to be rather absolutist.
I'm sure some tenants are great and some are awful and I'm sure some landlords are great and some are Rachman.
Well yes. Obviously landlords are "needed", but only as rental properties are needed. I think expecting tenants to be grateful and thankful to them for the privilege is a little odd. They are contributing to the issues as much as corporates too.I'm sure some tenants are great and some are awful and I'm sure some landlords are great and some are Rachman.

This thread is hilarious. Landlords crying about people not appreciating the service to the community they serve, while posting pictures trying to prove how generous they are.
If this thread proves anything, it's why it's better for renters to deal with corporates and be as far from the private owners as possible.
Bullst. If this thread proves anything, it's why it's better for renters to deal with corporates and be as far from the private owners as possible.

Would you say that was typical for let's on your area? I'm not suggesting every rental property is perfect, but it's nothing like it's being made out to be. As I've said it's easy to check what's available on rightmove.
Not sure what you mean by the last line?
I refurbish my properties before they're let. As a minimum that's full redecoration and new carpets. If it needs it I do the bathroom and kitchen.
Of the 4 I have left (I've sold 2) 3 had new kitchens, 2 had new bathrooms. 1 had new kitchen doors and worktops as the cupboards were sound, and the layout was fine.
Before....
After...
When a tenant leaves I will refurbish them again before being re-let (or sold).
This is satire, right? Not sure what you mean by the last line?

Now my understanding of lettings agents is that they would deduct the cost of a professional repainting in the original magnolia. All I do is sigh, and remind them that thier next landlord may be less accommodating.
In a few hours I need to go around and finish sorting out the decking that a previous tenant decided to put down.
It's fking dangerous, so we have decided to cover it in AstroTurf.
The current tenant, is from what I can see, incredibly untidy and quite dirty, and not in a good way. The laminate flooring I put down in the bedroom, has been wrecked by the dog she got without permission.
My attitude is to ignore it. It means that she will struggle to find any LL prepared to take her. The longer she stays the less likely it is that I will be able to make a claim on her deposit, when she does leave.
Can you see how slippy this was ?
Total cost of all materials? < £250.
Hours Doing it ?
2 x 1 hour painting it to protect it
3 hours fitting it.

For the most part, private landlord ‘investors’ are parasites and their crying makes me smile.
The sooner these people are forced out of the equation the better.
If I get a doll could you show me where the nasty landlord touched you? Judging by your views this doll might be most appropriate:The sooner these people are forced out of the equation the better.

Will you stop it !I'm sure some tenants are great and some are awful and I'm sure some landlords are great and some are Rachman.
Go away with your common sense
There are no Rachmans, nothing even close as any landlord doing what he did would be in jail. So no there are no landlords who act like Rachman, there has not been for decades, so let’s stop drawing entirely mendacious comparisons.
