Any idea how soon, nearly bought one in DFS last weekend - Now I'm glad the salesman pissed me off!

Furniture Village are a lot better.

Went in a couple of weeks ago and they didnt seem all that cheap.Have seen loads on the www but not sure whether to take the plunge and buy online. Can see me waiting for 16 weeks and then some old story about them being stuck in the Brenner Pass!

we placed our order about 3 weeks ago,
one sales guy said it would be another week from then, they just keep dragging out this sale!

It's now on a '4 days til sale ends' on the website countdown, but they done that a couple of weeks ago, when it got to 0 days, the countdown started again rolleyes

I have quite a lot of faith in DFS,
I have had one sofa from each place, the Furniture village one lasted two years before showing it's age,
my DFS one is now 7 years old and wearing very well, plus the DFS one was half the price of the FV one.

Well my parents managed to buy 2 sofas not in a sale in DFS and they are completely fked after 18 months.

I have a pair of leather ones from FV and they are fine after 4 years.

I suppose it comes down to the model and wether they made them on a Friday or not!

Go to Barker & Stonehouse and look atr their Chicago range http://www.barkerandstonehouse.co.uk/productdetail... Well made in the colour you see, comfortable and you might be able to knock em down a bit on price, i got a 2 + 2 1/2 seater for £1400 last year!

I've got a couple of good distressed leather (worn look) sofas from DFS. Quality is fine, price was good, delivered, taken apart to get into the lounge and rebuilt. I'd not write them off without actually having a look.

In fairness to DFS we bought two electric two seater recliners and matching chair from them eighteen months ago, and they are still like new, very pleased with them...smile

We did look at plenty of other rival places too......It's just their friggin TV ads that drive me mad every 20 minutes....rage

I've came to the conclusion DFS is a pile of sheeite for cash strapped pikeys.

I foolishly bought one of their sofas, and after a year it was fit for the rubbish tip. Discoulored, sagging, just rubbish really. It looked about 20 years old, not 1.

Oh, and the salesman was a lying who put the repayment protection with Hitachi Finance onto the credit deal despite being told I didn't want it. Try proving it though. Hello 30% apr and loan insurance payments I didn't need.

I then bought a sofa set from John Lewis. 2 years on it still looks great and has no sag or wear. Winner. Guess where I'll be going back to when it finally needs replacing.

I'd rather sit on bean bags than any of the tat from DFS. Sooner they go bankrupt, and take their dishonest staff with them, the better.

Bought my sofas from DFS: helpful staff, good deal on price, delivered exactly on time (within 10 mins) and still look pristine after 2 years of less than gentle use.

Just make sure it doesn't have any faux leather (usually on the sides or near the feet). Usually only on cheaper sofas but I've found it used on some pricier ones too.
