Tried a Smoke Relief kit - it was pretty poor, no real feeling of smoking a cigarette, poor vapour generation, awful battery life. Went back to cigarettes!

To save me from trawling the whole thread, chaps, which are the recommended kits on here?
my wife tried this, http://www.wize-cigs.co.uk/Bud_VGO_Kit/p1001224_46... 6 months ago, has not had a cigarette since

Harry, take a look at Waspy's recommendations in this thread. I opted for one of them, and aside of the fluid I picked not being too hot, the rest of the kit is bloody brilliant - best £75 I've spent in a long while. Just don't go for the 36mg stuff unless you really hate your lungs!

This is what I bought my brother and he's loving it.

My choice is either an eGo Vision Clearomiser set-up or a Dual Coil Tank set-up.

Anyone interested in a Dual Coil Tank (DCT) system and not sure what parts to order (it can be as confusing as a carp fishing catalogue) here's what I got:

3.5ML DCT (Dual Coil Tank) This link also contains an instructional video

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/du...

3.5ML Dual Coil Tank Decorative Plinth (goes between the battery and the tank)

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/du...

4 Dual Coil Tank replacement Cartomizers for £8.99, this bit goes through the middle of the tank and changes the liquid into vapour (these are the parts that wear out, they last about a week)

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/du...

Tornado eGo-C 1000mAh Manual Battery - Black & Brushed Steel (I got one of each)

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/to...

Tornado Mega USB Charger

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/to...

30ML Bottle Of Totally Wicked E-Liquid, I chose Vanilla Flavour (nicotine strength to suit, I recommend a high strength to start with, you can always reduce the strength later)

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/to...

The whole thing assembled looks like this (although my batteries are longer)

I got 50 ml of apple for £15 for my sky cigs (link a few pages back).

Im 4 days without a fag now and to be honest Im starting to go off the sky cig a bit.

Just doesnt deliever that hit a fag does. Also I really draw on a fag and when I do the same on my e-cig ive almost burnt my lip. Im just hoping that the stronger e liquid ive ordered will do the job otherwise I might be back on the fags, even if just the odd one.

Oh and I dont care what sky-cig say no way in hell does one cartridge = 250 puffs or 30 fags.

I put a new one in last night had maybe two fags worth a couple this morning and a few when I got back from site and the vapour is almost gone.

plus you cant take them on certain sites as they aint intrinsically safe but I guess I knew that, just means you need to carry back up fags.

I keep wondering why some are trying/going for the E-cig?
Do you want to stop smoking real cigs?
Do you want a replacement for cigs?
I have switched to these in the hope that,
A - I stop smoking cigs
B - I stop an addiction
C - I quit using a dependancy of something I have been a slave to for years.
D - last of all, yes I would like to save money but if I have money freely for real cigs then this is not part of the equation so getting it cheaper is not my A B C.
Understanding why you want to switch is (for me) , family and freedom and freedom to be free with my family Anywhere and Anytime.
To me going for a cheaper way to save money and continue the addiction is, failing at the first hurdle.
Looking for a way out of the matrix whilst embracing the matrix is doomed to fail.

First thing break the connection with cigarettes.

That can be done today, right now with this vaping lark.

Once that's done, you can work on your nicotine dependency by various methods, reducing the nicotine level gradually in the liquid for example or using nicotine lozenges some of the time, instead of vaping, with a gradual reduction in the strength of the lozenge....it's up to you. But all the time you are working that one out you are not using tobacco.

But first things first.

I find the same with the Skycigs, though I did seem to get more out of them than you currently are. Highly recommend taking a look at the kit Waspy recommended (as reposted / quoted by Dixie a few posts up). It's what I got, and it's stunning - easily a ciggie replacement, and much much better than the Skycig - the Skycig I'll be keeping in the car.

This has been a great thread, I have used real looking ones for years (I actually know the guy who owns E-Lites and got loads free) and never quite got the hit I need and have ended up back on the real thing.

My Tornado MEGA eGO-C Twist Variable, dual coil tank, plinth and charger arrived today with an assortment of liquid and its brilliant! Fingers crossed I will never need analogue again.

Thanks to the experts!

I went with this exact set up, it's really very good, IMO.
Arrived last Friday so used it all weekend, no traditional smokes since.

However it occurred to me that this wasn't compact enough if I'm going to use it at work without upsetting some "nothing better to worry about" type.

After some advice over on ukvapers.com and a little further research I went for the SD (ScrewDriver) Keyring kit.
It's available from most of the sites in this thread.
I used it today and it was fantastic, stealthy and considering the size of the battery it lasted the whole day at work with fairly constant use. Just started to die as I was leaving the office.
Thoroughly recommended.

I used to work with a guy who quit using nitcotine chewing gum. He quit cigs but years later still chews the gum. He removed all the crap in cigs but still gets his nicotine fix from the gum.. I see what you are saying but some people just want to avoid the bad things about smoking while still doing it.

I dont get how you've all got the patience for this, charging up,different flavours, dual circuit capacitors and smoking something the size of a pogo stick-fair play to you all but I find it much easier to walk into Tesco and get a disposable e-cig for 5.99 and it looks like a fag.

£5.99? Then you are missing the point. Vaping is supposed to be a chaper alternative to a a reat cig.

I don't want to quit cigs, I love a fag and a pint. But I don't fancy the health issues surrounding real cigs, so E-cigs seem perfect for me.

my skycigs arrived yesterday, so three days postage time, which isnt bad at all!

opened the box up like a kid at christmas.

you have to charge the box up first, then when thats charged, let it charge the battery, as it happened my box was already charged, so i just screwed a battery in.

by the time my mid morning break, they still wasnt charged, so i had a rollie, but around 11, the battery charged and i was able to start vaping!

at first i thought i made a mistake, it was harsh, and the nicotine hit was heavy despite me ordering the medium strength refills. but i kept on them and found if you take a couple of puffs first to prime it (almost like when the cherrys gone out on a real fag, letting the smoke leave your mouth) then the drag was much smoother.

lasted all day smoking it! ive found i tend to have a few puffs here and there, rather than one fag then a hour of two gap!

ive not had a fag since 10.30am yesterday, with no cravings of any sort, they really are brilliant. like ive said in a previous post, im not really looking to quit, as i do enjoy smoking, but this enables me to do so in a much healthier way! even if the cost benefits wernt there, i think id still do it just for the health benefits!
ive woken up this morning and i can already feel flem in my chest, clearing out from my lungs!

everyone ive shown it to, smokers and non smokers, have all been interested, and you can see the smokers brain working, as if to say, yes, that is a good idea!

for me, i cant rate them highly enough! (thumbup)

Collected my Skycig from the post office yesterday and my initial thoughts are that it's really good. Deliveres the same sortr of nicotine rush that the niquitin inhalators do and it actually tastes quite nice (gold tobacco) I've left my tobacco in the car today so will see if it does me for the day.

Right chaps, I have been vaping for a few weeks now and am still amazed that I have stayed off the fags. For what it's worth, I tried the "cig-a-like" device about a year ago and at the time thought it was the business, but after a couple of days, when you start to get the inconsistent and hot draws, I was soon back on the analogues. By chance I found a very friendly forum and was given cracking advice about a proper "starter" kit. The cost of some of the kits really put me off the initial purchase but shop around and you can get something half decent for the price of 3 packs of tabs, this for example - http://www.dealextreme.com/p/egot-quit-smoking-usb... £14'ish, takes a couple of weeks but for the batteries alone it's a good deal, then get a couple of stardust's £4 each and your set. Another bit of advice regarding juice is to try some RY4, I don't think it's been mentioned on this thread yet, it's a tobacco/vanilla/caramel juice and becomes a lot of peoples "all dayer", this is when you start to make real savings, buy in bulk, (I get mine from healthcabin, about £15 for 3/4 months worth, 115ml)or make your own, but that's a different thread.

Sorry for the waffle, it's just a good time to get the next device before you get bored/fed up with the cig-a-likes.
