Just left my house to walk the OH home, and in the passage leading to the front door of the house the OH spotted a green holdall tucked to one side by the bushes...
Took it in the house and opened it, and found a hammer and a paper with today's date tucked under the cardboard floor bit. Odd enough I think.
Open the side pocket, and it has one leather glove tucked in it and a large carrier bag......
Just got off the phone to the local police, who are en route to pick it up now.
WTF!

Hmmm, who would steal a bag with a hammer.
A carpenter maybe? MC Hammer?

Kind of odd to have a carry on luggage style holdall with simply a hammer, the paper and a leather glove in it though.
Unless it was a burglar dressed partly as Michael Jackson sans glove who likes to read the news in-between theffery

Nice going. I was taught not to go near unattended baggage but that's because of where I grew up.

Holy mother That was a scary ten minutes. Door was banged, opened it expecting to find the bib, found a rough as f k bloke asking where his bag was and demanding it back... Cue me asking what was in it, and him answering "my lunch" Informed him the police were en route and he could ask them for it back. Then shut my front door, triple locked it and called the police.. They blue lighted/lit? two crews round and stayed on the phone whilst he hammered the door and the bell shouting for it back and that he had two small kids.... Not sure of the relevance of that part TBH... Police turned up en force and removed him and bag. No joke, I almost s t my pants when he was hammering on the door. Heart is beating like a f ked clock. Now I await a reprisal

A man who eats hammers.
I'd have been worried too.

He doesn't seem the brightest hammer in the toolbox. "Hmm, my tools for this breakin have been discovered. Let's ask my potential victim where they are!"
Classy bloke really. My burglars just used a big stone.

He didn't look the full shilling to be fair. Who the feck transports their hammer and favourite leather glove around the site doing trade in a brand new looking unscuffed emerald green gheyers bag with faux golden trim and zips? Crackhead the crazy burglar, that's who. (I am feeling braver now he has gone, as you may be able to tell)
